Codeproject is no longer usefullI agree with your comprehensive description of web sites out there. Why require a username and password just to download files or browse articles? Is there a point besides trying to send out more spam to my email box? Or have someone track my Internet usage... hrmmm..? However, I disagree with the usefulness of Code Project. This web site is one of the very few that I faithfully visit once a day. Sometimes I even visit more then once a day! The articles are sometimes helpful and I love reading/participating in the forums once in a while. If you liked downloading the sample projects, which, in my opinion, is one of the most useful aspects of the site, then registering to download them shouldn't be too difficult. I still haven't found a site for developers that offers excellent source code and help to in ways of the articles and forums. And to help keep it a "good place", I think registering also is a good way to support the maintainers of the site. At least, they get to find out who is using their site.

Coming to AmericaHello! Londo wrote: 1) Seeing as work is paying for accomodation I dont have to worry about that, but I am interested in what the costs of living are like there. Specifically, how much is Cable TV and broadband internet? Hrmm... the cable/broadband internet depends on where you live, I think. I have comcast and for basic cable and internet access it's about $80 US. Londo wrote: 2) Is there much to see and do in that region of the US? I've been to Washington and N.Y. on holidays before, so I'm sure I'll head to DC and check out (more) of the Smithsonian and other things like that; is there much more? As for what to do in and around Baltimore, check out the Baltimore City Paper and Baltimore Sun. As for the DC area check out the Washington Post. This provides the big picture about the two cities... :-D
