SQL or Sequal? -
A question of style: Inline code in .aspx pages.I maybe the only one that looks as MVC and inline code as a blessing. Yes by far it is harder to maintain, but the possibilites it can open up far exceeds the ability maintain it. This is probably because I have been programming for nearly 40 years, I have different point of view on coding. I have programmed in Assembly, qbasic, fortran, pascal,c, c++, lisp, sql, html,xml,c#..... I have found .Net in gerneral, until MVC, to be quite limiting. It is more interesting now with MVC. RC

Do web developers need there own local server? The simple answer is yes. Both of my portables are running 2003. The best buy is the Visual Studio Professional with MSDN Premium. When I ordered my portable w/o an OS I asked for the subscription. It has every version of OS that MS makes. If your company is a Dell customer, the prices for MSDN maybe lower if you buy it thru Dell.

Is anyone else considering skipping the VS2008 generation?Late Adopter??? hmmm I maybe a very late adopter, my company is still using VS6.0, something about the thickness of the layer of dust determines when software is to be rolled out and how many service packs. RC (who's first portable computer was a computer in a rack with wheels)

Quick PollSelf taught in computers, then again when I started punch cards and vaccum tubes were still being used. Portable computers was a NOVA computer in a rack with wheels.. and some small company just came out with the 2002. TTL was becoming the standard, Bill was still in school and Darthmouth developed a language called Basic. High speed terminals were teletypes with 110 baud modems. RC
