I think RSS are a class of Web Service that uses existing HTTP infrastructure rather than new layers on top. Read Roy Fielding'sDissertation for some better info. Peter Drayton recently did a presentation on bringing the Web Services camps together with RESTful SOAP. -Brian

Own up... who really doesn't like BT and lives in Manchester? It wasn't me, but BT managed to break my ADSL connection at the exchange last week and it took them 4 days to fix it after identifying the problem... -Brian

Northern Ireland and Near EastProbably not. 95% of people in Northern Ireland are at peace. It's just a few on both sides who cause trouble. The people who are supposedly 'making peace' are not concerned about anyone other than themselves. The Irish Republic is interested in having possession of Northern Ireland. Any country would try and nab it's neighbours land if it thinks it has an opportunity to. Compare with the Spain/Morocco situation...

Northern Ireland and Near EastPeace hasn't been achieved. The IRA, and the same type of people on the other side still terrorise their communities. People wonder why there are few Catholics in the Northern Ireland police - it's because any person considering it as a career risks their life, and their family and friends' lives too...
-
Northern Ireland and Near EastYes, they are as bad as the IRA. I'm from Northern Ireland and am very aware of the both sides...

Northern Ireland and Near EastPeople are being *very* naive if they believe any of that about the IRA...

Anyone here live in Northern Ireland?I'm from Killaloo, a place outside Londonderry, but study/work in Manchester. There is no decent computer work of any description in the Northwest, but living costs are low (compared to Manchester) and the people are friendly. Also there is the Bushmills distillery near Coleraine :) -Brian

ASP.NET booksThere is a simple table of contents for Dino's book at.... http://www.wintellect.com/about/instructors/esposito/web\_solutions.asp He also writes MSDN Magazine's Cutting Edge column... http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/ Dino has written some excellent stuff for MSDN, and his Visual C++ Shell Programming book for Wrox is very good. I used to like Wrox books, Pro ASP et al. but they have been very poor recently. -Brian

Super Bowlhehe.... It's funny though how Ireland have 2 pre-match anthems... -Brian

Super BowlI find it very difficult to get 'into' American football. It seems so boring especially when you compare it to rugby. Rugby doesn't allow tackling of persons who are not in possession of the ball which allows the game to flow. Rugby was a lot slower when I started playing in 1992. However, rule changes and the professional game have brought it on strides. Southern Hemisphere rugby is played with a different attitude to what we are used to in the UK. That's changing too with Ireland's resurgence... -Brian

Wizard design issue...Hi Visual C++ 6 SP5 / Win2K / August 2001 PSDK / Win32 only I want to modify the colour of the horizontal header on the internal pages of a Wizard (WIZARD97). This is currently white with a small 49x49 logo towards the right side. I'd like to replace the whole whiteband with a bitmap, or fill the area with a different colour. I have been looking at PSH_USEHBMHEADER, but I just get a grey area (minus 49x49 logo). Thanks in advance. Yours, Brian
