Here is my approach Create a Webservice proxy in your machine to Use the standard OOTB Sharepoint Web service to update a document library or web part http://www.crsw.com/mark/sharepoint/Wiki Pages/SharePoint Web Services.aspx or Write your Webservice in the MOSS Server to update the MOSS site using the Sharepoint DOM Object If you use your custom web service you may not need sharepoint dll in your machine.
