Having grown up using FORTRAN IV where there was a 6 character limit to variable names using only A-Z and 0-9, you had to be very inventive to avoid everything being A1, A2, A3, I, J, K etc

Been into board games latelyI still play Cluedo, Monopoly, Scrabble and any card games with my wife and kids regularly. We also have some of the newer board games but none of them are as addictive as the old favourites.

Do you have a language you're kind of ashamed that you like(d)?Having been brought up with Fortran IV, I was ecstatic when I learned Clipper in ths MS-DOS world. Windows made me change to VB6 which I used for many years for numerous projects but there is a time when all good things must go. I switched to VB .Net and now to C# but I am still nostalgic about Clipper and VB6

I go down rabbit holes on Wiki following internal combustion tech for some reason.1970 last year of school. They took us to a vocational guidance show and at one stall there was an IBM golfball typewriter printing Mona Lisa. I couldn't believe it. I stuck around and got a chance to play tic-tac-toe with the computer and also saw the golfball do a Noddy act nodding its "head" up and down and round and round. I was hooked. I never saw the rest of the show. I still have an IBM golfball on my desk and I still earn my living coding 53 years later. Never regretted it and I always remember a quote which says find a job you enjoy and you will never work in your life.
