  • Need guidelines to put a domain name for sale
    D Divya Rathore

Hi All, I intend to sell a particular domain name that is specific to an industry vertical. I plan to sell it as I am not able to find time to develop it. Without getting into the exact details (pardon me for that, just that I wanted to maintain the anonymity till I am ready), I would like to say that: 1. Its a broad name of a particular industrial domain. E.g. somewhat on the lines of www.books.com 2. My intended buyer would be a computing based startup or an established company in that area. Extending the example in point above - www.books.com redirects to www.barnesandnoble.comr 3. Of course, the buyer would have an option to either use it actively or keep it parked the way Barnes & Noble has done to www.books.com with an appropriate redirection. How should I approach potential buyers? What are my options of putting an advert? 1. Craiglist? 2. Something else? 3. What may get best footfall? best regards and a happy Thanksgiving! - Divya Rathore

  • Company didn't pay last month consultancy fee
    D Divya Rathore

Hi All, Thanks a ton for the responses. I have passed on this forum link to my friend. Just to clarify you helpful lot, the company is from US and friend lives in another country. Generally not giving out any identity so as to not to cause any complications. I think talking the way out among the parties would be the best way out. Just being hopeful that common sense prevails. Else the lesson learnt would be worth every penny (lot's of them, actually! :) ) thanks to all!

  • Company didn't pay last month consultancy fee
    D Divya Rathore

Someone I know joined this company from US and was asked to do consultancy work (pure software development). There was no contract, nothing. Not even joining formalities. It was purely on the basis of previous relationship of this person with the company that originated 3 years back. Things didn't go the way they were projected so the fellow decided to quit after 2 months. He was payed the first month's salary but even after repeated emails/phone calls the company is not responding or releasing the 2nd month's salary. What would be the best way to settle this issue? I know the guy is sincere and really wanted to help him out.

What Windows did to me (as shown in the link) was much better. I would rather take down the link. :)

Edited it in latest Chrome. Doesn't show up too good with that either.

  • Text Based Progress Indicator
    D Divya Rathore

I have always hated this new progress control they started since Windows Vista. I had a UI that had multiple frames on a Window and each frame had a progress ctrl. If there are 8 frames, one can imagine how ugly it is to have 8 fluorescent green progress controls each at a different stage. The original blue-stepped progress ctrl was way better. It used to gel well with the overall Win UI elements.

  • Android Tablet PC: What do you use it for?

I had a look at the super big Galaxy Note. If you use it as a phone, it looks like as if you are holding a slipper over your ear. But still I like the large screen.

For the compiler on my 32 bit machine, WORD is an unsigned short. So it would be: pow(2, 11*2*8), i.e., pow(2, 176) = 2 raised to the power of 176

Indeed keep this. And like a good hubby, buy a cordless one. And after 2 weeks, fit in the rotary shell to the mobile one and rig up the circuitry. And enjoy a rotary mobile version ;)
