i want to capture information from a user via a webpage, but I want to use something that is highly configurable as the user will want to create different pages to collect information. We have a document assembly program which works great internally, but we need a flexible solution that can work externally. the document assembly program is expensive if we attempt to allow external users to interface with the application so we're trying to find an alternative custom coded program.

  • Have any Major Business's migrated to Windows 10?
    D DrMaltz

I think the progress of migrating is slow to Windows 10, but it's only a matter of time before they will have no choice. Microsoft will not allow another XP type situation. Also vendors that claim they are certified to work on Windows platforms will eventually need to move to Windows 10 else they will lose their certification.

  • Quick and Dirty Web Forms

I need a quick and dirty way to capture information that a person would normally have to type or write into a word document. My challenge is that the person inputting the data needs to be able to key the information online, save the information, print to a pdf/word doc and change the information later. Is there a quick way to do this? I initially thought using FDF (the old pdf form filler), but i have a few concerns. Any other insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • SQL Server Inventory and Database Documentation
    D DrMaltz

I've recently arrived at a firm that has well over 30 databases for various applications. The downside is that there has been no documentation on any of the systems. I've tried to encourage the DBAs and developers to proactively document the purpose of tables, stored procs,etc.. but this has been slow and coming. I've been looking at a few tools from RedGAte, but I'm not sure what else is available. Is there a good process or set of tools that can be used to document a database along with the means to inventory the details for a CMDB? Thanks.

  • Sharepoint Web Metrics
    D DrMaltz

Does anyone know of a good tool for tracking what your users are actually doing on Sharepoint sites? I know Sharepoint comes with some basic trends, but we're looking for something richer and fairly inexpensive? So far, I've seen CardioLog, but I'm sure there have to be other tools out there.. Any information you can provide would be insightful. Thanks.

sergeyv2002, because your question is so open, I would have to say it honestly depends on your requirements(i.e what should the site do..interfaces required). Articulate your requirements and potentially someone will answer your question. :-> DrMaltz "The Code King"

I'm assuming you're using the Search Assistant (little dog), but when you type in your file name to search for.. just type the following: ??????????.dll The ? serves as a place holder similar to the "_" that's used in a SQL like statement. I hope this helps. :) DrMaltz "The Code King"
