Ok, the pointer should have been enough to get the ball rolling. It showed one way to obtain the file name passed as a command line argument. What you do from here on is up to you. Windows Forms applications pass command line arguments in the same way, the only difference is how you reference the arguments. One way would be to use a member variable to hold the filename. If you make this a public static you can then access if from anywhere within your application. You start by adding a new control to your project, it's an object type. You then get an area like the forms designer, but the controls you add to it, are added to your control. It's because the window only paints itself once unless there's reason to repaint it again. For example, the number should increase if you hide the window (maybe minimize it), then reshow the window. It will have repainted a number of times. FYI, you can force a paint in code using the Invalidate() method of the Form class. The image is probably a jpeg. JPEG images use lossy compression, so the color that was solid, is now a range of colors in that general vicinity. Draw the image yourself on your background, in a paint event handler. Use the ImageAttributes class as a parameter when drawing the image, and you can specify a range of colors to make transparent.
