Dr Who doesn't belong in the list. Every episode feels like they're injecting new rules of physics - very difficult/impossible to suspend disbelief. And feels like it's for kids.

I tried to watch a documentary about the construction of the Large Hadron Collider...In contrast, I was at the Titanic exhibition and found this amazing book about how they put ships together back then. It was riveting.

What do you do if...I have had this happen recently. I agree with Bill - let them know the implications, but if they want to trawl Google images and supply them to me, all I can do is make sure it's their responsibility. The potential customer to whom I pointed this out went away anyway, and a good thing too. If he doesn't want to pay 7 quid for images from clipart.com he's hardly going to spend a fortune with my company..

The no 1 irritation in security policiesThe main reason I can see for doing this is to prevent old employees from hacking into the system. (Yes, when an employee leaves you delete their account, but they may have access to resources using passwords that may not be directly connected to their own Windows identity - for example someone else's password!) In the case of a bank PIN, it's different, as you never go away (you can't leave the company)

does anyone of you misses the windows xp "up one level" button in windows seven explorerThe new way is hit and miss, and sometimes just shows the current folder, for some reason. Lots of times an "up" button would be easier.

I think my love affair with icons is coming to an end.I think you're missing the point. Icons should come with text and/or tooltips. Once the user has found out what they are, and used them a few times, then the icon is automatically a visual shortcut for them. Doesn't matter if a fire-breathing dinosaur means "save", it's only the association in the user's mind that matters. Of course continuity across apps is hugely important, for the same reason, so in fact a 3.5 inch floppy disk for "save" is of course easier (at the moment)....
