    Just wanted to ask you to please put a break;in this loop? anywhere is the right place!

    while(1 != 0)
    {
    ask 'how can i set the text of a textbox programmatically'
    questions;
    post 'Hi, this is MY answer (that i found on some site) of
    YOUR question!' replies;
    ask people for the code for this (the text of a textbox),
    since you think the code you have (found in some other website)
    works only for ASP.net.
    }

    And oh, I forgot... http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsto/thread/fb771ae9-86e8-4568-b4d7-4216c69a223a[^]

    While typing the earlier message, I connected to MS Update... and guess WHAT: :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: Critical Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB 933508) Taille du téléchargement : 18.2 Mo , 27 minutes The initial release of SQL Server 2005 SP2 contained an issue that caused maintenance plan cleanup tasks to remove data before the specified cleanup interval. Install this update to resolve existing cleanup task intervals to the previous values, and to avoid this issue in new cleanup tasks. :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

  • Desktop vs Laptop
    E eRRaTuM

    Well, last month I faced the same dillema, and after two days of serious reflection, I chose /*definitly*/ an AMD x64 4200+ w 1Gb RAM and a 120 Gb SATA HDD, w an nvidia 256 Mb PCIe 19" inch LCD monitor ... :-> for performance, evolutionarity and :laugh: multipurposism :laugh:. I chose power rather than have the sweet freedom to write my "leisure time" code away from the desk in my apartment which is, I know, quite pleasant, but a note-book /*the real hard paper one*/ does it :), taking notes remains a good habit of mine :) I saved money :), gained performance (a laptop would never be as powerful as a NearToServerDesktop) and had spare time to read Stephen King!!! Good luck...

  • What do you think?
    E eRRaTuM

    I for sure agree since the battle {_var vs LocalVariable} is always won, personnaly, by LocalVariable, which is more expressive and less ugly :laugh: :cool: Regards :cool:

    I switched from C to C# (company orientations :) ) since 2003... Never wrote a line in VB nor VB.net (apart from some few macros in MS Office). And I can say that there is no huge difference between VB.net & C# :sigh:, (may be C-like syntax but it relies on the same framework :(( ) :: YOU make history :: ^_^

  • Best practices question: do you comment out or delete old code?
    E eRRaTuM

    Actually, I nearly tried everything! commenting and typing date&time, deleting. I finally made a simple program that archives my sources everytime a modification is saved to the source, using a filesystemwatcher, it copies the source to a specific folder (%FOLDERNAME%\slnName\24-03-06@10'17'31.225 - SourceName.cs). I'm satisfied because it works quite good! :: it's YOU that makes history :: ^_^
