C# Futures: Relaxed OverridesQuote:
It should be noted that most of the discussions about this feature happened in early 2015, over two years ago. And nothing has been done with it, at least publicly, since the proposal was formally written up back in February.

Virgin Media starts turning customer routers into public Wi-Fi hotspotsUPC in Austria had this for two? years now. Called Wi-Free. Works really well, seperate wifi ssid, limited to 10mbits down 1mbit up, that bandwidth is added on top of your plan's. I can go pretty much anywhere and have free wifi with bearable speeds- still prefer my 250mbits at home, but hey, It's free!

Browser delay when loading pageDid you try using another LAN port on your router? Did you try resetting the LAN Interface on windows? The troubleshooter can do that, alternatively you can uninstall the driver in device manager and then hit "Scan for hardware changes" to reinstall it. Something else you can try is executing "ping -t www.example.com" to see if the issue really comes from DNS lookups / your modem and not your browser. Could just as well be an issue with your browser, which this test should show by replying within a few milliseconds or if it takes just as long as visiting pages your windows install.
-
Browser delay when loading pageReally sounds like you have a faulty modem if the same problem occurs on your phone for example. Call your isp and get a new one Before you do that, set the DNS Servers in your Modem's web interface to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, those are Google's DNS servers and consistently fast.
