Nothing. It appears to have gone completely dark.

I haven't received the Daily Developer News since August 29. I was on vacation last week, so I didn't notice. I checked my Junk Mail folder and it's not in there. Any one else having issues with receiving it?

That's interesting! My workplace uses OpenVPN on a pfSense firewall/router. It works flawlessly, and has for years. And, it's FREE!

  • Why corporate IT must be destroyed
    F fatman45

Not to worry. The new Teams sucks, too. No more Contacts list in the chat, the only choice is to have them ordered by the latest active one. Unless you go through the hassle of "pinning" them. Cartoonish emojis are another "feature". You'll love it. :sigh:

I've noticed that it's only certain websites where it wants to turn on the webcam, like my bank. I assume it is the websites, not Edge. But I don't know why my bank thinks they need my webcam on.

As an IoT person, you probably have done a lot of assembly language programming. I find that people who love regex tend to also like assembly (including myself). I find regex very elegant, and immensely powerful.

UBlock doesn't work anymore. Saturday I got the message from YT that I needed to drop the ad blocker in order to continue watching a video. Browser was Edge on Linux Mint.

My first assembly program I wrote using Peter Norton's Assembly Language Book for the IBM PC[^]. Using the book, you write a disk sector editor utility. It was a great learning experience.

  • Will Bubble put a lot of web programmers out of work?
    F fatman45

Sure, just like Plug-and-Play put a lot of system administrators out of work (I was warned about this in 1990, when I was a sysadmin). Spoiler alert: It didn't!

How did you automate the renewal process? I also have been using LetsEncrypt successfully in both on-prem servers and Azure VMs (dev and test servers). But every 3 months I have to go through the hassle of manually renewing.

    F fatman45

Do you have Automatic Updates turned off? Because my various Windows 10 machines have all sorts of weirdness when there is a Windows Update pending, especially one that wants to restart the machine, and I ignore them for too long. I've seen the issues you are talking about only once on one machine, but on all of them I will experience keyboard and/or mouse weirdness. I used to get frustrated and curse at my machine(s), but now the first thing I do is check Windows update. Restarting and letting it update immediately cures the wonkiness.

They are - I'm using one for my current home PC. But most laptops - especially older ones - wouldn't have the interface for it.

  • Visual Basic.NET Exceeded C# Popularity in TIOBE in July 2018

Just because JavaScript is the most used doesn't mean it is popular. That's two different things. I've read many posts where people complain about JavaScript. That doesn't mean they aren't using it, though.
