thanks for the tips !!! I poked around macromedia, uninstalled the thingie, set the activex options to "disable" instead of enable/prompt, now let's see if that was realllllly causing the problem

The notion that atheists (or 'brights' :rolleyes:) think that there will eventually be a day when we have nothing more to learn is absolutely ridiculous. I know many atheists, and not a single one of them would ever offer this theory - most would dismiss it out of hand as childishly simplistic. What many atheists and other rationalists of other names genuinely believe is that critical thinking and rational thought are simply the best tools we have to understand the world around us. They are not infallible. They will not offer god-like understanding of reality. They are not perfect. It is quite trivial, in fact, to prove that there must be an infinite amount of unanswerable questions for any axiomatic belief system. Closet deists (and the out-of-the-closet ones too ;)) like to point out this supposed 'weakness' of logic as some sort of proof that logic itself is a failure. Logic is not flawed - it wholly recognizes its limitations. Anarchism has got a bad press. To me it's like communism, in that in the long term it can't work as the absolute ideals of it are impossible to exist, factors such as human nature take over. Interesting Marx only ever saw Communism as a transitional state for a country, not as the solution. Later communists were the ones who believed in the global communist ideal. IMHO Anarchism can basically be divided into two groups. Left Anarchism, and Anarch-Capitalism. Modern Libertairianism shares a lot of what Left-Anarchasim has.
