To add to the answer from RGTuffin, you most propably also need to know the minimum lengths for a phone number. Consider following number: 1441232 If searching for bermuda (1441) this matches, so the result could be that you interpret this as a phone number from bermuda. This would result that the phone number is 232, but it's most certainly not true. Then again if you take out the prefix for U.S. (1) the phone number would be 441232. Hi, First set a break point where you read the data from the QueryString and see whether it retuns the parsed data. (Note: Just check if the Querystring key you use ie: "Id" and "status" has the same spelling as from where you are parsing from.) Also another hint is just parse these values manually to the Query and see whether its working.. And when adding the values to the parameter you could simply use updatecmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@apid, theapiid); Just some additional infor... And assigned the value you retrive from ExecuteNonQuery to int variable and check if its greater than 0 before going for the next line... And others seems to be fine... Hope it helps.. Thx, Gayani

hi michael thanks for giving so fast answera though i'm not sur i understood.Right now i don't know how to do such a thing, should it be in the installer class?In my architecture i have about 8 forms and 3 crystalreports and each of them has at least one data adapter.then i add an installer class that use a masterconnectionstring and then change the database master to the one provided by the end user in a user interface.The values entered is past to a variable in the overrided install method(if i'm not wrong).So it 'll read my sql text file to create all the object of this database.How should i implement what you just suggested?
