Maybe you can d/l the .net runtime (for apps) or .net sdk (for development) from ms. could be better bandwith. then install, and your app that is dependent on the .net runtime should recognize you already have it installed and continue with its execution. importing the COM signature seems to be the only way to go since : - it's native code in the end - SetMinThreads(wt,ct); doesn't seem to help much Rotor's source code (sscli/clr/src/vm/win32threadpool.cpp) seems in debug mode to lookup the CLR config file for a "MaxThreadpoolThreads" keyword in it, and replaces the default "25 * nbCPUs" value with it, if any. Another note mostly for myself not to forget: 1. Have parallel to .NET 2003 IDE -- VC6 installation; 2. Created simple MFC project (Dialog); 3. Project Settings/C/C++/Preprocessor/Ignore Standard Include Path - set to Yes; 4. Project Settings/C/C++/General/Additional Include Dirs - put the same that I have in VC6/Tools/Options/Directories/Include files and in the same order; 5. This is just one more demonstration that VB as well as .NET environment will allow you to forget the basics. So you are saying you can access and pass structures solely through IDispatch? And "you don't use VT enum"? So, you can show me how to do that in a script, late binding, without TypeLibs?... Man -- what planet are you from? And the worst part is that Microsoft developed another "darling" language to go with it. It was bad enough that the VB programmers got everything handed to them on a platter and the C++ programmers had to wait and jump through hoops. Now C++ takes another hit with the managed extensions which turn it into an abomination. Which of course is Microsoft's strategy to get you to switch to C# where it's easy again and it sort of looks like C++ if you never used much of the language. The need for a good library is clear. The standard library is Java's only saving feature. If C++ had as comprehensive of a standard library, Java would never have caught on IMHO. Tim
