When I leave any of my computers I expect them to be in the exact same state when I return. The only thing that ever gets powered down are my laptops when I'm mobile. Needless to say I don't share well when it comes to hardware I earn a living with.

who leaves there machine in sleep mode over night? -
Are Hot Desks used much?Amen to that! Last place I worked stuffed 90 engineers in to one room - less than 3 feet between each person. There is no way in hell I'd do hot desking. And I'll never do open floor plan again.
I miss punch cards.

Resharper? What's the big deal?I won't write a line of C# without it. Handiest thing since sliced bread!

Sony deliberately disables virtualisation on laptopsI'll be damned! WTF was I looking at then? Well, hopefully this MB will accept a VT capable processor.

Sony deliberately disables virtualisation on laptopsI thought it was only the 8100 that didn't support VT.

Sony deliberately disables virtualisation on laptopsIt's not just Sony. I bought a Gateway (acer) desktop in April - Core2 Quad processor (8200), 8GB ram, 1TB hd, Vista64. A power user's machine, and you would think it'd be VT capable.. but NOOOO!! The settings to enable VT are removed from the BIOS!! I was SOO pissed off when I made that little discovery. Makes it real hard to test on 64bit VM's.

Know a good disassembler?Garry, I would say you are an unimaginative person, and more than likely not a very good engineer. In MY 25+ year career I have used disassemblers/decompilers many times to create imaginative and highly successful solutions to some extremely complex problems. Furthermore, I have yet to steel anything (except market share.) You bonehead. Jake

IE7Yeah MultipleIE works pretty good. I run IE6 on a machine with IE7 installed. It works great except when debugging - none of the tools run in IE6 (ie dev toolbar, etc). But it works fine for verifying IE6 functionality.

Netron Project ReplacementInteresting. It looks like they copied graphviz. The spline edges produced by graphviz have always had a unique look to them. The GLEE graphs look like exact copies of graphviz graphs.

IE Developer ToolbarHmm. Sounds like an Aero problem. Vista doesn't support Aero glass under RDP or vm's as far as I know. Jake
