I travelled to Bangalore last summer for a couple weeks. One morning in the rush hour to work we were stuck in traffic and an ambulance with sirens was stuck along with everyone else. No one moved, not that it would have been easy as drivers had filed into five traffic lanes on the three lane road. Felt very sorry for whoever was inside the ambulance needing medical attention. It was definitely an eye opener compared to the traffic in the USA.

  • Pass the Salt, please
    K kragan

Not quite salt, but I've washed boards from laptops that have been covered in soda using a good dish detergent like dawn and hot water. A toothbrush is good for getting stuff around the connectors. Afterwards for drying the board, I've used a small electric space heater and let it dry overnight with the heater blowing hot air on it. The hot air heats up the board and helps water evaporate from under components. One other thing, if there's a removable button cell battery (for the BIOS/ROM settings), remove that prior to washing the board. Good luck.

You might try entering a DEP (data execution prevention) exclusion for your service on the server running it. Its something we have to do in our environment for applications that interact with older foxpro stuff to resolve C0000005 exceptions.

  • VCR woes - potential solution
    K kragan

For that price I think I would opt for purchasing a tuner card for a computer in the other room and then one of those boxes like a media center extender for the living room. I've no experience with the mentioned toshiba VCR. Awhile back I purchased a sony VCR/DVDR for my wife so she could transfer older VHS to DVD to put in our DVD changer. The VCR/DVDR picked up on the copy protection on the VHS tapes so could only transfer stuff like home movies.

[^] Not that I use the linux OS on my ps3 a whole lot, but it was nice to have for the occasional browsing of the web and exploring linux while sitting on the couch. Now I need to figure out what to do with the space on my upgraded hdd.

  • Which would be the way to get 3 monitors working?
    K kragan

Here's a little info on the experience I've had. I run 3 monitors using NVidia cards. I have an 8600GT in the PCI-E slot and an NVidia 6200 card in a PCI slot. I originally started with a 5200/FX PCI card but the NVidia driver couldn't support both the newer 8600 GT and the older 5200 at the same time. NVidia support told me that their drivers only support 3 generations (8, 7 and 6 series) so the 5200 was too old to run along side the 8600. I found a 6200 PCI card online, I think it was at newegg. I didn't have to mess with SLI stuff, and the only issue I've had is with hibernation. After hibernation my PC didn't want to wake up, but I think that's more of an issue with their driver's Vista 64 bit support which is the OS i'm running on this PC.

Just a guess, but you might try calling the EndEdit method on the DataRow prior to checking its DataRowState.
