  • custom button or graphic with multi select points
    K Kyle P

We need a custom button or custom graphic to be able to have multiple select points. We have looked at Button Objx and other tools but no luck yet. Eg. have a vehicle button or graphic and based on selection, eg. doors, hood, wheels, etc. go to different events or mark selections. We would need an outline front/back of a human body as well. Also, would need graphic/button to be able to be resized based on resolution. Any ideas of what we can do. thank you

  • Sharing common dialogs across applications
    K Kyle P

We have several exes that need access to common dialogs for database administration on common tables. Dialogs need access to a database via ADO/ODBC and user interface. We have in the past recreated the same dialog repeatively. Getting tired of doing that. Would like to create for each dialog an EXE/DLL or something that we can link at runtime in case of changes. A DLL looks like the best way. Any BOOKS or PUBLICATIONS out there to exactly guide us from creating , calling from current EXEs, and distribution? Really need step by step not just a reference document. Would just creating an EXE for each dialog and shell execute would work? Pros / cons. thank you

  • VS 6.0 C++ code imported to MS VS 2003 or above for rebuilding projects
    K Kyle P

Which one and can it be done taking VS 6.0 C++ code and bringing it into one of the new VS 2xxx versions? We would like not to recode at this time and just import/rebuild under the newer environments. Any problems with doing this? thanks

  • Image List Inhancement needed
    K Kyle P

We use a toolkit from LeadTools I believe it is the Raster Pro. They have an image list control that can include several images as thumbnails and then if you wish to click and display at a larger size you can. Most of the image types are run-time free but if you want others like PDF and such that SDK is extra and run-times.

  • Looking for touch screen activex controls to incorporate
    K Kyle P

Looking for activex controls to activate on CEdit controls and more for touch screen computer development. Some of our customer's tablets are XP Pro passive touch and some others are XP Tablet. Would like user ablity not to go to keyboard or rely on the virtual embedded keyboard. For example, if needing to enter numeric values allow activation of control by entering the CEdit or by even a button beside the CEdit control. This would allow current and new method. At that time, we would have the ability to allow the user to enter in numeric values and/or maybe even having a way to calculate. At that time, the number can be sent to the CEdit control. Working still in VC 6++ and would need activex thanks

  • Handling multiple display sizes and keep full screen
    K Kyle P

Thank you for responding. From here though, I need to change controls within the dialog to fit the new size and their corresponding text. If we move the output from a 19" to lets say a 42" display we want the fonts in the controls to be larger. We are trying to create a message display for our industry and to fit on multiple displays. How and/or tools to also change the size of the control and any font size based on this? thank you

  • Handling multiple display sizes and keep full screen
    K Kyle P

We would like to create an application that will display messages in different areas in defined areas of the monitors including large LCDs and keep the dialog size full size for each monitor. From the size of monitor, 17,27,30,42 and so on, change the font size and display areas to meet that size without much changing the overall look of the application output. Is is best to design multiple dialogs within the application to meet the sizes and have the user pick those or can we have one dialog and have the aspect and such change based on size? Any tools would be appreciated if you know of any. Thank you

  • CXListCtrl questions
    K Kyle P

I am tring to use the ToolTips with this tool and would like a multi-line tool tip. You Set the Tooltip with a String and I am trying to embed \r\n and such in the CString to create a larger Text Box of area for the ToolTip. My goal is that a person would not have to go to a next screen to see all the data but get an idea of what is there from a current screen. Any help thank you Kyle

  • ShellExecute IE with a file name
    K Kyle P

We are wanting to use Visio Viewer 2003 within our application. Based on what I am reading, Visio Viewer is only available through IE. I would like to launch IE that with a file name of a Visio Viewer 2003 MIME type that would bring up that drawing automatically. I can already of course launch IE using ShellExecute but only get it to work with an URL. thank you
