I think it's a good idea. I studied architecture for a while (the real kind with buildings, not software architecture) and developing software can be similar; in both disciplines you have minimum requirement of function and safety, and you can also do great work by creating a delightful user experience. There needs to be a career track for multidisciplinary people who understand both technical and human aspects of computing.

Seriously, I left my last job in part because we had a scrum meeting at 9 AM and I couldn't get downtown by 9 after dropping my daughter off at daycare. And the scrum meetings became a bit of a joke - I do like the idea, but it got to be 2 years of going over the same issues every morning and not making any progress. If I had a chance to run a scrum team I would do the meetings as a coffee break or something, and I might (I know this is heresy!) not do them every day. I think it's important to keep the whole team on the same page, but lots of great software has been written by people who don't even live in the same time zone, nevertheless who meet in person each day.
