There is no such things as creationist science...simply because there is no science to it. All other sciences are based on observation...cause/effect etc. The basic premise for creation theroy is: "you cannot catagorically disprove it (because we will not allow you too) therefore our theroy is valid" Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

Email clientsIt is the most clunky....un-intuitive...comparitvely slow, email client I ever used...Only IBM could maintain such an out-dated odd peice of software Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

New CultI think that if I were to come up with a business plan I would also want to become an honourary member of your cult!! Not just some lowly acolyte but some sort of real player, with a catchy title like "Lord High Poombah", or "Demi-God Matt", that sort of thing... ASP.NETHi folks, what would be the best way to implement a page header (eg The Code Project's) on each page of a C# WebForm application? Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

ASP.NETHi folks, Lately I have been spending some time attempting to get my head around ASP.NET. One on the exercises I have set myself is to build a modest little website. But I have run into a few design problems that I hope some one can help me with. I have decided to have a standard header to each page. (Just like code project has the standard header at the top of this page.) In pure ASP I would have had these as a SSI (eg . In ASP.NET this still works but when I attempt to add make the header a bit smarter by making it a WebForm things get all confused. This happens because they are each seperate pages with seperate C# code behind them. Which means there is two <@ Page ...> directives. Which means it doesn't work! What is the proper design pattern/model to acheive this type of behaviour? I hope this makes sense to you all... Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

Web Hosting with .NETHi folks, I was just looking at the options for .NET web hosting. Currently I am looking for hosting for personal use rather than for an organisation. (I'm just learning some VS .NET). It seems the only cost effective options are brinkster and eraserver. Has anyone used these services? Do you recommend one or the other? And does anyone know of an Aussie .NET hosting service? :-D Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

.NET Beta 2I think the time limitation only applies to the release candidate version that was recently made available to people who attended the PDC. As I understand it, you are better off sticking with beta 2 as it has a few features that the RC doesn't, and isn't time limited. :) Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

VS .NET bugThanks for the pointer. I tried reinstalling it all still have the same problem. The I discovered that it is not Visual studio at all just the help system (which auto loaded when you first start VS). Consquently even when I attempt to just browse the help system outside of VS I get an application error. I'll keep trying... ahhh.... the joys of beta products. Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

VS .NET bugHi folks, I just installed the .NET beta 2 on my machine, and attempted to start the IDE. All seems well to begin with until, "Updating Help to reflect recent changes..." then BAM an unhandled exception and the whole application shuts down. (followed by one of those annoying bug reports to MS). I have successfully installed the beta on other machines! Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem...I couldn't find anything after searching around on msdn. I am running win2k... Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

Windows 2000Hi Folks, I've got a question for any Win2K gurus out there. Recently I spoke to someone about disk cloning (using Norton Ghost for example). He told me that there are security problems with disk cloning, and that it is NOT a good idea. Something about "SID's"? Matt ------ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

Internet Explorer 6Michael, 1. Open windows explorer and select the Tools | Folder Options... menu option. 2. Select the "File Types" tab. 3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list box. You should find something called "ZIP WinZip File". 4. Select this entry and press the "Advanced" button. 5. Check the "Confirm open after download" option hope this works.
