Visual Studio question -
25 years of programming reduced to a question.I agree 200%. I got so frustrated with interviews; I even got up and walked out on a couple because of the arbitrary-stretched-to-the-point-of-WTF who the hell has used one of those [insert obscure programming theory] in code in the last 20 years. The disgust has been so acrid that I started re-evaluating my career choices. I got thrown into the deep end of a lot of projects and successfully swam out. No one in any interview asked about that. I've given interviews and usually just by talking to the applicant inside of a few minutes can pretty quickly tell if the individual is a bullshit artist or not.

if you could time-travel ?That one special moment in time where everyone in the universe plugged in their hair dryers at the same time....

Who uses music CD's?Having seen the carnation of various media, I would say vinyl was the coolest. Aside from the cover art, you got all sorts of neat things like posters and what not and things you could assemble to hang off the ceiling. There was a lot of creativity.

Resignation LetterHmmmm kinda confirms you made the right choice... Mike

Well, yesterday we finally took down our Christmas Tree. It is normal for us to keep it going until late January but this year was an exception.
Naw... last year, our tree was in a separate room that we normally don't spend a lot of time in.... we finally took it down in July. We were quite impressed how resilient the plastic needles were :-). Mike

How do you google for Google?
I tried that once... my computer just fell over and melted because of the jarring recursion. I think its somewhere in my ISP's terms of service not to do that. :wtf:

And remember these examples:

- Java, because there's a world shortage of programming languages.[informational public service announcement starts here] [cue Sarah Mclachlan music, show montage of people throwing out shrink wrapped boxes] People from all corners of the globe are helping WWF Endangered Programming Language Institute to build a future where compilers and interpreters live in harmony with nature. They might be tracking PL/I in the Himalayas or bottle feeding ALGOL in Brussels, helping communities in Redmond develop sustainable infracturure for abandoned SNOBOL interpreters. [change music to a happier tone, shrink wrapped boxes are being coddled by aid workers] Your donation of approximately the price of a Starbucks coffee a day will ensure a happier life for these neglected languages. 2 kg doesn't sound like much of an achievement, but I come from 64 kg, so that's not a lot already (I'm 1,80m long)..
Seriously, that is a fantastic achievement. I've spent a lot of effort trying to keep the weight stable and know what effort it takes to push it in the negative direction. You rock!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Cheers, Mike

I am Software Developer ?You'll need to look this up, but as a start when another developer ask you "What is the airspeed velocity of a fully laden swallow?", you should almost instinctively and immediately respond with the correct answer. Also you should at least one reference in comments in your code:"A moose once bit my sister" (from the same movie). I usually mention this once during interviews... If there is at least a glint of recognition, You're hired :-) Mike

Not AgainI remember hearing that from the Repo Man soundtrack....[^] "Repo Man is always intense".

Interview QuestionYou answer "African or European?" and then mention to the interviewer that you require a steady uninterrupted stream of "Skittles" delivered to your desk as you code. Interviews always respond favourably to developers with sugar addictions. Its not the capabilities, its the carbs....
