My girlfriend suffers with TMJ; she has a mouthguard & has regular massage therapy sessions which have generally kept the pain under control. However she has recently starting with acupuncture & this has been the most successful treatment yet, she will often go for days after completely pain-free. Day to day she swims & has said this also helps. The common thread with all these being to relax the muscle tensions in the head, neck, shoulders & back. As for the other, I would try grunting unresponsively or just ignoring the chatter with an "oh I'm sorry I missed that" if necessary. They'll soon get the message.

IE7I have both...well, a standalone version of IE7 which works well on the odd occasion I use it. I think I got it from here: http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2006/07/26/IE7-Standalone-_2800_Updated-for-IE7-Beta-3_2900_.aspx[^]

(Paid) vacation timeI just got back from a vacation where I spent 3 days in Helsinki & even before I saw the chart I fancied a move over there - now I especially do! An awesome place with awesome vacation times (although I hear the winters are particularly harsh.)

iPhone - is that all it is?Stuart Dootson - what he said. A lot of industry people seem very worried about the iPhone & my opinion is that it could be curtains for Microsoft-based phones for some time to come, & rightly so. Ok so a lot of the iPhone is hype & there will be ups & downs with it, but it's finally shaken up the market to really start delivering on the promises that smartphones offer.

Summer reading recommendations? If you have lots of spare time & fancy something different & very rewarding, I'd recommend "In Search of Lost Time" by Proust. It's quite a sizeable series but worth the effort. Science Fiction/Fantasy-wise Tad Williams' "The Dragonbone Chair" is one of my favourites, & up there with Tolkien IMO. History: "A People's History of the United States: 1492-present" by Howard Zinn Quick & brilliant Philsophy: "The Consolations of Philosophy" by Alain de Botton Inspiring Biography: "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life" by Jon Lee Anderson Superb classics: "The Iliad"; "Dangerous Liaisons"; "One Hundred Years of Solitude"; "The Catcher in the Rye"; "1984 Nineteen Eighty-Four" (Perhaps relevant now more than ever). Enjoy!

Information overload. Why do you want, or need, to know all that semi-useless information? It's a pertinent question you ask as I've spent the past couple of weeks consciously trying to cut out the spam, both paper-based & virtual. I send mailshot letters back asking to be removed from the lists & I bin the semi-useless information included with my statements & I have unsubscribed from many e-newsletters. It's quite liberating to only get emails from friends, but also to know that the vast well of knowledge is available to me when I require it to target something specific.
