voice programming? -
voice programming?Holly f... s....!!! Where was i the last 10 years?!?! Why is nobody mentioning this? Why isn't this included with the PS3? There is something fishy about this...is there a developer platform...i want to make virtual reality worlds...what are the health side effects? This stuff is amazing...ok...no need to answer this post. These are all just comments coming from my excitement...

voice programming?that is sooooo coooool. What about the helmet? Is there anything like that? Where you put it on and it looks as though you are in the 3d environment. I don't care about the graphics. Just the principle of it. Is it bad for your eyes? Or do you trick your eyes into virtual distances (so you don't stare at the same distance all the time). Anyway i'll look around the web for virtual haptics. Take care of your fingers! :)

voice programming?I am sure there is a good reason behind it. It is way noble. And the topic by itself is very interesting. The way i see it, a programmer should only need his mind and a computer :) yet it seems as though without your sight it is impossible. That bums me out. Another thought i had was virtual reality programing. Imagine a 3D environment where you can grab snippets look around and stuff like that. Grab stuff with your hand. Code on top of a nice big white cloud in the middle of an Oblivion grass field. :) Ohh man...i wonder what happened to VR. It used to be so hyped up...

voice programming? This is sickening. I feel sorry for you and your pain, but if it is not a genetic illness or just bad luck, and if it is caused by you working so much then you need to see another kind of a doctor. Psychiatrist. No offense there. It's just that people stray away from life like that. It could happen to anyone, but you need to be aware of it. There is always a way: like having that thing you squeeze while you are thinking. Or being disciplined in stretching and stuff. I am still young so i see as how i might experience all this one day, but i felt obliged to tell you that something a man called Sulik told me a while ago: "Me and grampy bone think you should stop and smell the flowers" :D good luck

Can you afford to offer your services for free for many years, decades?
I hope so. I look at it as an ongoing project that can terminate when i terminate. I enjoy programming, and to be honest i would rather do some science programming than some business application programming. In my free time i like exploring game development. Sometimes i wonder what can i leave to this world? I guess i love knowledge, i love coding...putting together these two to make this world a smarter place is a good thing i think.

Microsoft on MultithreadingI just realized why some people seem like aholes when posting. There seems to be so many of them. I was beginning to think that coders are mostly aholes. When you are behind a nickname it is easier to say what you think. At the same time, think of this world where this is practiced in real life too. From the language and expressions on this forum we would kill each other off. This is where hypocrisy comes in and saves the day when you politely tell your coworker: "I see your point, but maybe it would be better if...". Thank god for hypocrisy! :D

Bringing computer science and natural sciences togetherI want to throw this one out there even though it's nothing new (inspired by the way of discovery of E8). We as computer programmers hold in our hands the most powerful computational tool in the universe. Combining this tool with the knowledge and experiments of the natural sciences great advances are done, and can be done in expanding human knowledge. By the way, i bet that 99% of the coding is used towards empowering business and everyday tasks. I've noticed that there is a lot of physicists with some great ideas, but with a lack of coding knowledge to put them into reality. This is where we should jump in. Maybe we are not engaged enough in offering our services non-profit as we should be. Same counts for them. Maybe they are not asking strongly enough for our services either. From my experience (I've worked with some older physicist) this is the case. I am planning to offer my knowledge and experience and time to the Physics Institute near by. Maybe you should too. :) This way I feel as I might have left something useful to this world :)

Design patterns, any good books? This is the sad part about programmers community. There is always some smartalec trying to be cool instead of helping out. If you want a world of peace you gotta start acting on it. Aholes!

the endIn situations like this*2 might help: GET ON YOUR F** FEET LIEUTENANT! YOU HAVE A F** PLATOON TO RUN! PEOPLE DEPEND ON YOU! YOU'LL HAVE TIME TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE DEAD! :D hope it helped!
