  • C# is dying
    N Nick Polyak

The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated. C# But seriously speaking - C# is a great language and with every new feature set it becomes better and better. The major features they add are very well thought out and very much in tune with what many people want to be added to the language. The latest case in point are abstract static methods added to the interfaces - one cannot overestimate the importance of it for improving reuse. What was hurting C# before - was the fact that it was tied to Windows OS. But there is no longer such restriction.

Yes, it is actually for the sake of better WSL that I plan to switch (if at all)

Can you justify? Or is it just a joke? If sanity and logic (or lack of thereof) is comparable to Windows 10 - it is good enough for me.

    N Nick Polyak

I think not - see the rules about posting in the lounge. There are some other groups within the codeproject that allow political postings. In general software talents from russia on one side or Ukraine and the rest of the world on the other should not get upset because of what they see in the lounge.

  • Unnoticeable yet awesome new C# feature
    N Nick Polyak

C# is a language developing faster than other similar languages, by absorbing good ideas from other languages including python. I hope they'll implement embedding from golang (the only good feature of golang worth mentioning AFAIK). In general, with once and if dotnet interactive sufficiently matures, it might very well replace Python as the most used language for scientific computing.

I do not see how I can private message you from the codeproject site, unfortunately. If you want connect to me on linkedin (I provide a link next to my profile) and there we'll be able to exchange the messages or you'll be able to see my e-mail address.

Virtual Mac would be great also. I just do not know how to do it or where to buy it. There are plenty of instructions for setting up a virtual Linux machine - which I did, but I could not find good instructions for Mac.

I do not have to compile or debug the code on Mac - only to run it. Thanks
