Politically Correct CodingNot a joke... We maintain a product that uses the terms 'master' and 'slave' to describe the certain roles within a data replication topology. It has been demanded of us by a potential user to change these names immediately in all source code, test suites, documentation, etc... :wtf:

US Tax Cuts~ $2400 more in my pocket in 2018 according to my records. Still not enough, but certainly not 'crumbs'.

US Work Atmosphere Getting Eerily Scary with Trump PoliciesI have said this here before. I personally know and work with on a daily basis hiring managers in big name companies that have 'unofficial' H1-B quotas that they must meet, strictly for budgetary reasons. H1-B is so badly abused in the US that it either needs to be abandoned entirely or fixed in such a way that an employer can not hold an employee hostage via sponsorship.

Best appropriation of a Charlie Brown cartoon everYou are a moron. Nobody is poor because someone else is rich. Rich people aren't thieves because they are rich, well, except maybe for Soros and his ilk. You want a 'fair' personal tax plan? Fine, every single man, woman, and child pays the exact same amount tax for every day they are alive with the only exceptions being those that are truly disabled and unable to work (physically or mentally handicapped). No business or corporate taxation whatsoever as business have no 'vote' (taxation without representation). That is a 'fair' tax plan. Maybe then, people will pay attention to the real problem, spending. Personally I think income tax is a terrible concept. Taxing should be done on consumption/sales only with also import taxation for the purpose of enforcing trade and market leveling. This is all typical envy and jealousy, you're not 'rich', therefore you hate them and want their success, 'luck', and hard work to pay your own way.

Best appropriation of a Charlie Brown cartoon everI have never received a job offer or a paycheck from a poor person,

Oh dearMy attempt at snark seems to have missed the mark. By 'she' I was referring to the witch that lost the election.

Oh dearProbably not, she's too busy promoting her book and hustling the Russians for more money.

DepressingIn my weee little town of 15K people (an hour drive to the next population in any direction) we have a WalMart. I know the GM and shift managers and many of the workers. They have a GIANT banner hanging out front that is accurate every day, they are hiring all positions, all shifts, well above min wage. On any given day, there are at least a half dozen pan handlers out in the parking lot begging for money. You can't offer them work, they don't want it, they want the free money, beer, and weed. Coincidentally, they also all were Sanders supporters when he was in the running, go figure.

What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?I'm not sure I follow. We have a brilliant, young, QA gentleman that lives in Kazakhstan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[^]. That's how he identifies himself and his country. Since you are in/from Australia, you might know of Wagga Wagga, which is where his supervisor, a very good friend of mine and a Belgium ex-patriot, resides. Personally I know very little about that area. Is there some joke in there that I am missing?

What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?Ahhh, OK, that makes some sense now :) For some reason, my posts that reference Kazakhstan are going directly into moderation as possible spam. I guess that there is some great potassium cartel that is spamming the world and any discussions surrounding potassium and Kazakhstan are automatically considered suspect. Who would have thought...

What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?It is 100% possible. My current employer does it. Our entire company of about 150 people is remote with only a small concentration of top management and IT located together in a common office. Our development, documentation, build and QA alone are spread out in 17 different timezones. We are in India, Australia, United States, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Lithuania, several locations in Russia, UK, Thailand, Kazakhstan and one or two others that I am forgetting. We have been like this for 10 years now. We are not at all unique, most others in our market space and adjacent spaces are similarly distributed. Are there challenges? Of course, but there is nothing that can not be overcome. As a result we have an extremely low cost overhead and can hire the best talent across the globe at the lowest rates. The only H1Bs we have are actually our co-founders, one from Ukraine and one from Russia (well, they were H1Bs. They have both recently paid the government ransom and legal fees to get their green cards). I also am a co-founder of a small bootstrap start-up that is also 100% remote, but all team members are geographically located fairly close (10 people within about 2 hours of each other). We have no plan to obtain a B&M office any time soon.

What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?This is what I have seen as well. I can only recall one individual that I worked with that returned to his home country.

What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?Then maybe you can educate them. They would need to find another sponsor that is willing to pay and take the transfer which is not quite as easy as it sounds. It is indentured servitude and needs to be eliminated entirely. Either you are allowed to work, live, and move freely here in the US or you are not. No grey area, no limits. I have known and worked with (and hired and fired) too many H1Bers and know that the law is abused 100% of the time.
-
What is the position of the presidential candidates on H-1B visas ?I personally know some H1Bers at Google and Facebook that are titled and paid as mid-levels that are doing the work of Senior and even Principle level developers. So yeah, they are abusing the law. :edit: Actually, I just remembered I also know a hiring manager at one of the mentioned companies that has an 'unofficial' H1B quota. :edit:

So- What is the Clinton Foundation?demagogue : a political leader who tries to get support by making false claims and promises and using arguments based on emotion rather than reason example : "Trump's demagoguery, bigotry, praise of anti-American dictators, racism, and comments about women are the duty of every journalist to report, considering the consequences if he were to take the highest office on Earth."
