  • First there were Script Kiddies....
    O Ollie

I got no problem with people copying content of MSDN, in fact I wait for the day when the whole of MSDN is available as an RSS feed so that I can host the articles I want and display it as I want and give full credit to the originators of the work. The thing I hate is the fact that alot of articles on cp suggest that these people wrote the original articles, the consequence of this is that they don't have the in-depth knowledge to help cp readers who might have configuration problems running the code or a more in-depth question about the article subject.

First there were Script Kiddies now there are MSDN Kiddies.... Everytime I am looking for code examples on the net I find plenty of articles copied straight out of MSDN and posted on codeproject, good job MS can't be bothered to sue - yet :) for all those MSDN Kiddies out there at least change the font please. Oh and the biogs of these Kiddies are very amusing, may be codeproject should have a section for most unbelivable biog.... :)

  • Do the members know the meaning of....
    O Ollie

The reason I ask is because I been looking around the web for information about a .Net C# problem I am having(well had, now solved it :)) and a lot of simple examples articles published are copied from either MSDN, published books chapters or other sites - mainly MSDN and published chapters from books.... I just think it is a little sad to pass of some else example code as one's own...

How about an investigation into the rape that occurred on her property that was covered up by her son? That sounds like perverting the course of justice and concealing a criminal offence to me But of course because they are over Privileged they will get away with it....

Hi, Sounds like a memory allocation\deallocation problem with 'm_EncryptedFilePath' especially if the path is correct('\\' etc) and it works when you hard code the path. What type of string is 'm_EncryptedFilePath'?

  • ATL Web Server return values question?
    O Ollie

Well in my C# application that consumes the web services it raises a SOAP exception and there is no defining information in the exception that will tell me why it failed. If I want to return rich error information from COM(i.e. IErrorInfo) then I am going to have to return this as either a parameter or a soap_header, but i do not want to specify an extra parameter in every method defined, so I am thinking of using a soap_header set as an out parameter..... Any thoughts......

  • ATL Web Server return values question?
    O Ollie

After looking at the MS sample ATL Server projects is it better to always return S_OK from a method([web_method]) and pass back error information through either an out paremeter or through a soap header? Cheers Ollie:confused:
