Well, just because "everyone is doing it" in no way at all makes it OK for you to do it. You're not going to get help with this for 2 reasons. 1) Per the YouTube Terms of Service, what you're doing is a copyright violation. The content belongs to YouTube. The content is not "public domain" and you really don't get to do with it as you please. 2) You're stealing money. By creating your own video viewer you are filtering out the ads that come with the content. That ad money is what pays the bills for the service and also puts money into the pockets of the content producers. By rolling your own viewer, you are taking away that ad money. Thanks Gerry. I removed the space. No difference. I put a in complete long hand path id. No Difference. No Errors. Datagrid is fully populated. I tried alternating between dataset and dataTable. Nothing. No errors. Just sits there blank. I almost feel angry that there is no easy way to take the data that is just sitting there in the grid and moving it into the report. This is do-able with Excel. But I have chosen not to do that in this case. I did not want to use Crystal Reports (never liked them), and now I am not sure if that will work either, but I certainly need a solution. I regularly use Code Project (since Y2K days), but this may be the first time in over 10 years that I cannot neither get nor figure out a solution. I greatly appreciate your time and expertise. 5 million is not very big. Typically tables are indexed to make retrieval quick. Further there are other DB features such as partitioning that would allow the table to appear as one large table but the DB would actually store the table and its indexes in seperate partitions based on some attrubute, likely, in your case, a user id or more likely a set of user ids. Retreival would then only look at the index and table partitions for the individual user or set of users. Keep an open mind, I think your strong view that separate databases increase performance is miss placed. We have done a exercise of consolidating 50+ databases each with 30,000+ tables and 10 of millions of rows in some tables. Same harwdare and the performance gain was about 3 times, administration effort cut 3 fold. The memory and CPU requirements just to start a single DB is considerable, consolidating allows these resource to be better utilized and boosts performance. There is also the idea that each user could be contained in a schema within a single DB, this is a half measure though as will you would gain performance, administration would still be high. I would encourage you to try a proof of concept with a single table on 10-30 DBs shut down those DBS and compare it to the combined verion of the table on one DB with all the resources from the 10-30 DBS allocated to single DB. The single DB is typically dramatically faster.

Having read your reply to DD I wonder why you are using a DGV at all. I would do the following Go into Excel and record a macro that saves your workbook to a folder. Take the macro and rewrite it into c# code. This will be the save method, consider that you will pass in a workbook and a filename to the method. Use a timer with a tick method set to the interval you need Your form starts the timer and has a listbox of the selected queries and the pass/fail of each process and a textbox with the destination folder. In the tick event you: Stop the timer Get the datatable from SQL instead of looping the columns/rows in the DGV loop the Rows/Columns of the datatable for (int i = 0; i < dataGridViewReport.Columns.Count; i++) use for (int i = 0; i < Datatable.Columns.Count; i++) Call your save method you have reconstructed from the excel macro start the timer. Your exception handling needs to deal with failed methods and write to the listbox data store and restart the timer. Hammer, Thank you for your reply. FYI...I did delete all COM references to Excel and I had already added the MSFT Core, but it still did not work. Apparently, there was a problem with different versions that were added for each reference to Interop (V11.0 vs v14.0), and this was due to the fact that the article was based on VS2.0. So I needed to change the references, make them the same, and then find the new path to the application (old was ApplicationClass and new was just .Application). An OS crash is a pretty severe problem and one which has nothing to do with your code. It just simply shouldn't be possible. Some possible avenues. 1. Try it on another machine. Perhaps you have some significant failure (like hardware) on your current box. 2. Try a different Oracle driver, if that is possible. 3. Insure the OS is up to date. Solutions: 1. Is the target run machine going to be windows 7 (or server 2008)? If not then use a different OS for development. 2. Use a proxy server. I would suggest java. That is going to require a lot of work. But your app connects to the proxy app, it does the database work, and then returns the result. The last is a rather severe solution but so is an OS crash.
