  • TextBox on Desktop Icons
    P Poolbeer

Hi, If you use the StringFormat Class and pass that along with the other stuff into MeasureString you'll get the size of the text back. Then if you do the DrawString using the same StringFormat properties the text will be drawn exactly like you want it. (ie wrapping) Using the wordwrap property of the textbox you can get the same look as the Graphics.DrawString method using the Formatting. Just play a little with those classes and you'll see it'll work. the rectangle you pass into the MeasureString method should be the size of the textbox minus the border width (usually 2 px). Good Luck. Poolbeer

Hi, Why don't you use the standard textbox and at every keypress check the size of the text using the MeasureText method and size the textbox appropriatly. It works for me... Greets, Poolbeer

  • control array in VB.net
    P Poolbeer

Hi, Why so many textboxes??? Isn't it a bit hard to with for the end user??? If you open your controlbox window you can find a wrapper for control array's Go to your customize Toolbox window. Then select the tab ".NET Framework Components" Find the component "TextBoxArray" that's the compatibility component for the control array. but why not redesign your application to use less textboxes or assign the same eventhandler to one event and check on the "sender" variable. greets, Poolbeer

Hi, Why don't you wrap some of the functions of the uxTheme.dll. Then you will be able to draw any part of the themed stuff yourself. If you want I can supply you some API's (there in VB though, but that shouldn't be the problem is it?) greets, Poolbeer

Thanks, I will have a VERY good look on your library. I think I'll just start small and incorporate a few APIs at a time and change as much as possible to get that OO thingy in place. Greets, Poolbeer

  • Extensive API Library
    P Poolbeer

Hi, I want to make an extensive API library that wraps as many API calls as possible but I don't know how I would implement them. There are a few possibilities: - By DLL (User32, Kernel32, etc.) - By Category (Graphics, Files, XPThemes, etc.) - Alphabeticly (nooooo!!!!) - ??? I would like to have some suggestions on how to do it. The programming itself is no problem, only the maner of implementing them. btw: If you have classes/code to share please I could use them as it will speed up the process a little bit. Thanks in advance. Greets, Poolbeer

This would be a good idea... I hate it too. Your idea of creating a DOS attack tool is cool but maybe there is no need for a central server. There is a small Java tool called FloodNet created by a hacker for the purpose of DOS attacking. The tool just keeps hitting the victims server and if there are enough people doing the same, well you know the results. Just do a search on Google for FloodNet. The idea is great I must say. • Athlon or P4
    P Poolbeer

I use my PC a lot for development. As I recently bought some new components I noticed that using a P4 is faster for me. The old processor was a P3 733/133, so to me it makes a big difference... :wtf: I think I will try a heavy benchmark or something to test the difference. Does anyone have a compiler benchmark util???? Martin If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer.

My girlfriend has got an AMD 1800+ and her system is always unstable. Whatever I do with it I can't get it stable.:(( I recently bought a P4 2.4/533, plugged the components in, installed XP and it runs sweet and stable.:omg: If you ask me buy a P4, it runs better and about those Ghz-es the CPUs are so damn fast that you won't even notice if it's a 1700 p4 or a 2400 p4. you'll only notice it when your doing Vids (like rippin' and editting).
