An Intel-architecture PC is a byte-addressable machine but you seem to be thinking about word-addressable machines which are quite rare nowadays. Each byte has its own memory address, so the addressable memory space for a single process (without funny tricks with segment registers) is 4 GiBytes, not 4 GiWords. All the memory space is addressable with 32 bit pointers.

hehe, I think all programmers have been here. I work for a game-programming company and game-programmers are not very good creating comments or explaining anything,... so the first thing I do when I start on a former project is to comment what is going on. I also change the way the code looks, this might sound strange but each programmer has there way of using indents and code alignment, by changing the code to your appeal makes it easier to understand. Hello, the codegurus around the world.;) When we open Word file, another temporary file is created. So, if someone first opens the file and another temporary file is created, the other people don't have the previlege to save this file.
