Sir/Madam, Our departmenatal packages have been written in vb.net 1.1 version and runs on Windows operating system.Is it possible to run this package in SUSE Linus Operating System (version 10) by converting vb.net code to Java enabled. J R D Solomon

I wish to generate a sequence number in vb.net 1.1 based on the record count of a table.If more than one user want to create sequence number as abobe by accesing the same database and table concurrently, the table should be locked for the second user till the sequence number for the first user is created . We put in use MSExchage server in our office for e-mail communication between various offices of our Department which are connected thro' Leased lines and Dial-up. However users connected with "Dial-up" can not open the mail boxes whereas other users can open whenever the number of users reached some limit. Pl suggest the remedy.
