  • A little F# for you
    R redflyingpig

    I just don't get the point of yet another functional language before all those 'mainstream' FPs such as Haskell or Scheme become widely accepted by programmers. They have developed over 10 years and are much more mature than this F# thing, which by the look of this tiny program, is not syntactically attractive at all compared with those mentioned above. And I simply don't like their attitudes of trying to 'go mainstream' by the support of .Net while ignoring the efforts and accomplishments already put and gained in the functional programming area.

  • Newbie: how to make PrintPreview the initial view
    R redflyingpig

    Hi all, I'm learning how to print in MFC and I know MFC will generate a 'printpreview' view for you once you've got all the printing settings right. I'm trying to find out how to make this 'PrintPreview' the initial view of an application so that when you enter the program with some initial parameters you get a 'PrintPreview' window directly before any operations. Has anyone got any ideas on this? Thanks in advance.

  • C++ calendar components [modified]
    R redflyingpig

    Hi all, I'm looking for a third-party Outlook-style calendar component that can be built into our product. It needs to be in C++ but I'm not looking for any .Net components and better not MFC, because that will increase the cost of the integration. I was just looking at a product called 'Xtreme Calendar pro' and it looks quite nice just that it's for MFC. Anyone got any other ideas? Thanks. -- modified at 21:37 Tuesday 27th February, 2007
