  • callers graph?
    R rschuler

A few months back I made the switch from MSVC 6.0 to visual studio .NET 2003. I have found the new version of every feature of MSVC 6.0 that I uses save one. The call / callers graphs. For those unfamiliar with the call graphs you could select or type in a function name, and get a tree view of all the functions it it calls, and the functions they call (and the functions they they call...). You could also go the other direction select or type in a function name and get a tree view of all the functions that call it, and functions that call them, (and functions that call them...) This functionality must exist in VS .NET 2003. But where? Even after trolling through the help for a while I have not yet found it. Anybody know where the call(ers) graphs have gone?

  • Resource loading fails in a static library (.lib)
    R rschuler

I have the same problem - cannot load resources that are compiled into the static library. I know that a solution to the problem exists because there are resources in the static MFC library. When I compile using VS 2002 I get warning on the .res file corresponding to the .rc file in the static library. warning LNK4221: no public symbols found; archive member will be inaccessible I think that may be a clue to the answer. Did you ever find an answer? Thanks -Rodney

  • Source Versions?
    R rschuler

CVS and Subversion can also be integrated into visual studio. PushOk sells software at very low cost software to do just this. CVS Subversion I have used both enough to determine that they do, indeed, work. I do not really use them because I prefer Tortoise[CVS|SVN] windows explorer integration over visual studio VSS, CVS or SVN integration.

AH, I see that cold snap lightened up since it passed through here. Twas -19C (-3F) actual -37C (-35F) something wind chill when that weather system was here in Iowa yesterday. Now are you not glad that we hearty Iowans take edge off the nasty weather for you :)

Roundup Do not let the 0.7 version number put you off. It is quite usable 'out of the box'. (Requires the active state python - free download).
