I DO think that there are two many cows, and I'm personally taking steps to combat the problem. Guys, I have just finished consuming what could possibly be the best steak I've ever eaten! (Did you like my segue?) :) It was a nice big Wagyū fillet (around 500 grams / approx a 1 lb) that I seared for 2 minutes each side and served with some freshly mashed potatoes and home-grown beans. I didn't even need to make gravy because the meat was so just juicy and tender! Wagyū beef sells for about AU$40 a kilo here so it's not something I can afford to eat every meal, but as a sunday afternoon treat it was unspeakably awesome :-D Now I'm washing it all down with a couple of icy cold beers. Perfect!

If you actually read up on the proposal (rather than just the news.com.au summary or the alex jones propaganda), all they're really going to be able to do is make it legal for an ISP to kill a client's connection if they detect that the client's machine has become an open spam relay or has joined a botnet. The Australian government is far too incompetent for anything more complicated to actually work. Plus, it's looking like they're going to get kicked out at the next election anyway, so the chances of this ever becoming law are pretty close to zero.

I don't live in Australia though, and I don't want to go there. Their govt sucks dicks.
Most of the voters here seem to agree with you. I think we'll be getting a change of government next election, although to be honest, the opposition are just as useless as the current govt... :(

I wouldn't mind visiting Australia, but I wouldn't want to live there. I just wouldn't feel safe, what with their repressive gun laws and all.
You'd be suprised how many Aussies say: "I wouldn't mind visiting the US, but I wouldn't want to live there. I wouldn't feel safe being surrounded by people with guns" The difference in perspective amuses me. I guess we all just get comfortable with whatever we're used to, hey :)

I couldn't see where the Illuminati building was, tho
Yes, well, that's because the Illuminati are stepping back for a while and letting the Freemasons assume the rotating EU shadow presidency[^] (Gotta love The Chaser  They're not as funny as The Onion, but they're still pretty good value...)

impressive was last year when Brett White absolutely pole-axed that Maroon forward
I'm not going to disagree with that. I actually had to dig it up on youtube and watch it again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2HlTJT7igU[^]

Foleau grew some balls
Speaking of Israel Foleau, apparently Foleau and Hunt are now (or soon will be) the highest paid AFL players. It'll be interesting to see if they're actually worth all the money that the AFL clubs are throwing at them (But still not interesting enough to sit through a game of AFL of course).

how did Inglis (part Abo isn't he, don't think Rugby League has had a full blood unlike many in AFL) threw the first punch, but Beau (Whitey) Ryan cops the blame cause we don't want to fan racist claims
Yeah that was a load of crap, Inglis was the agressor there - no doubt about it. If it was a normal club game he would have been sent off for that.

I'd like to say something nice about Queensland's team and play, but my Mother In-Law and two of her cousins would have smacked the arse of NSW.
The NSW team was made up of all these really talented players who just couldn't seem to play together. It was so bloody awful that I actually started feeling sorry for the Blues... (don't hate me but I'm a Queenslander) So yeah, terrible game. There were some pretty impressive fights though...
You're a braver man than I!

How about a point of discussion we can all agree upon ?
I don't know, something about this thread smells fishy. Is it going to be a deep discussion? We should be careful talking about this as sometimes the discussion can get a bit hairy. (Excuse the terrible puns, it's beer-oclock in my timezone. At least noone can give me a 1 in this forum I guess...) :)

Hahaha well that's entirely possible too :)

That seems unlikely. Parts of France get pretty bloody hot.
Well if heat/humidity isn't the problem, maybe the problem is simply that they're sh*t cars? :)
Josh Gray wrote:
Admittedly my impression of French cars is clouded by their cost at home in Auustralia, they're probably half the price in Europe and the UK.
Another arguement against them is that they don't seem to be able to cope with the Australian climate. An acquaintance of mine bought a second hand (5 years old) Peugeot a few years ago and by the time she'd had it for three years there were bits falling off it. I don't think the problem was build quality since it seemed fine when she bought it, I think it just couldn't cope with being parked out in the Aussie summer sun every day.

Was that a joke? "The Who" are from the UK
It looks like typical lame Hollywood tosh, but it includes Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez in skimpy clothes so I'll probably go and see it anyway  By the way, if this movie upsets you so much then why are you posting the trailer here? You realise that by spreading the word about it you're inadvertently promoting the movie...

I'm not really a big fan of fantasy normally, but I really enjoyed Sara Douglass's Axis Trilogy[^] - it's one of the best fiction series I've ever read (although the subsequent trilogies were nowhere near as good as the first...) :)
