Firstly, around 4-5 years ago Telstra outsourced all its IT to GSA (Which is IBM). IBM are pro-Linux, but it is fairly likely that it is being used as a stick against License 6.0 costs. Secondly, cases such as On Australia (MSN/Telstra partnership), large fall out over Big Pond Cable content provision, and the current stoush over bandwidth costs for XBOX Live in Oz (Funny to see how MS faces up to a monopoly as strong as themselves in their market), leave MS and Telstra as no great friends. Having been a Telstra IT employee at some point in the past, I can guarentee it will not happen. They have tons of inhouse software, and in the past had a RAD Group which churned out bucketfuls of VB apps to perform business tasks. Never happen.:suss: PS Any tech site which pours piss on both sides of the fence rocks my world. Far better than the regurgitated Press Releases that makes up ZDNet! (Look at this drivel ad pretending to be journalism X| )

OK, My current product has used the same general key (just a simple ascii hash) and has been very badly rorted with keygens. I am releasing the next product this week, and am using a 1024 Bit RSA digital signature. There will be no keygen for this, as long as the key remains secure. Keys/Auth codes all generated with OpenSSL (free). The dialogs are supplied by me. The most important things - 1. Never use a commercial lock. Timelock was a classic case, there was a cracked timelock.dll floating which rendered all TimeLock apps free to use. 2. Do research. Go to Fravia's page on Reverse Engineering. Learn to crack. I cracked the premier Help Author tool in 10 minutes using the right tools (Dont worry I never distributed it, or even used it past an evaluation). This tool costs $2500 AUS, they didnt put enough into it. If you are interested, I can post my RSA code, as it is tight even with source published. Shane

I have been doing it since late 1996. I have always used registration codes. I use RegSoft for the US orders and RegisterHouse for the UK/EU orders. RegSoft particularly I recommend, they have never sent a late cheque in 4 years. They have just been bought by Digital River, but they have assured their customers that the current business model will stay. If you need any more info, dont hesitate to drop me a line or ask more questions here. Have fun, Shane

IMHO, most of the resentment stems from actions such as Galipolli. And Maralinga. Shane

Great link Christian.... but in the Kingswood section... "The windows are extra wide so you can stick your fat arse out and moon people. " That is not Aussie at all.. it should be "The windows are extra wide so you can stick your fat arse out and chuck a brown-eye. " I did like.."VB sells so well in Australia that they haven't bothered to make new TV commercials since 1897. VB is so tops that if VB was your mate it would not fart in your car or sleaze onto your missus while you were away. VB is a top Aussie." :-D Shane

  • Nostradamus Nonsense

Too funny.... How? Simple if the Monkey's write random garbage but in an infinite amount, eventually because of the simple fact that it is inevitable (simple probability thought shows this). How does this apply to Nostradamus? Well I will show you... If I make say a thousand prophecies that are fairly abstract for example: In the City of God there will be a great thunder, Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb Well let us analyse this. For Example what does City of God mean? It could be Mecca, Medina, Rome, Jeruselum, Salt Lake City, or any holy city depending on your religion. What do I mean by thunder--a storm? War? EarthQuake? lots of stuff can be described by thunder. There are a lot of two brothers on this world (I think the Number runs among the Billions) and fortress edure's what--Besiegement, Famine, etc? What Great Leader? How will he succumb? To what? I guess he really had his point proven

This one gave me grief when Win2K came out. Check out the KB, and you will see it is a "feature". You need to create a HiddenWindow and send the messages there. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q183/1/16.ASP Shane
