If you have my setup, which is both VS 2002 and VS 6.0, you need both MSDN's because each VS will integrate their online help with one and not the other. So if you want integrated help with both, you have to install both MSDN's. Of course, these days, hard drives are relatively dirt cheap... ;)

Works pretty well, assuming you buy a notebook that's a desktop replacement. I used a Dell 8500 for a couple of years at my last job, because I worked from home 2-3 days of the week. A friend of mine just bought a souped up Gateway, but I prefer Dells and IBMs. Btw, when I worked from home, I connected the laptop to my monitor, keyboard and mouse via a KVM. I never used the laptop on battery power for any serious work.
