I just got asked by a fellow community member Roger Wright about my job title. He thought it sounds interesting and wants me to explain what do I do on a typical day :) So I thought I should start a new thread so that we can all shed some light on our Job Titles :) My Job Title: Strategy Developer My Company: Aurora Solutions My Company Profile: Aurora Solutions is a private software development and consultancy organization specialized in building financial technology and algorithmic trading solutions. We provide services for developing financial software to financial technology firms, hedge funds, retail brokers, market makers, exchanges and individual traders. Our team of seasoned software engineers and expert quant developers specializes in back testing and optimizing trading strategies as well as building intelligent real time automated trading systems aimed at meeting the growing needs of the market. Our high end services are known for its quality and effectiveness hard to to be matched in this domain by any other professional service provider. My Job Description: Being a Strategy Developer I have to write financial strategies. Simple, right? :P If you have read the company profile, you'd already have an idea about my job title. My responsibilities include writing highly efficient code that can perform at a very high frequency for incoming data (frequency of which is usually an update after every 10 mili seconds). I handle all the software development phases myself for a single strategy (from gathering requirement specifications to final user acceptance testing).
