As a developer for 44 years, I hate AI. Todays development systems have so much of that garbage in them. I hate it when it keeps changing my code while I'm trying to type something. I know what I want so please stop messing with me. It really lowers my productivity.

I've been programming applications for 43 years and the only language I've ever used is Basic. BasicA, RockyMountain Basic, HP Basic, Apple Basic, TI99/4A Basic, Commadore Basic, Quick Basic, Visual Basic, VB.Net. I've seen them all come and go. I'll be retiring soon but I will miss the fun of programming in my favorite of all language. I think it is a big mistake fort Microsoft to want to end VB DOTNET. They are going to loose lots of creativity to other companies who are currently building development systems to keep the language alive. Check out XOJO for instance. Cross platform applications development in a Basic environment. Basic is still the best environment to start learning computer programming for youngsters.

I do not use either for Database data, Entity Framework has always had bugs and a lot of overhead that is not necessary in the name of convenience. LINQ is actually awesome with arrays and datsets but not for database query functions. For MS SQL Db SqlConnector SqlCommand SqlAdapter are best in my opinion. For all others, ODBCConnector ODBC Command and ODBCDataAdapter. MySQL would use MySqlData.DLL data connectors and for Oracle use ODP.net. You get the picture right!

OK, Once again you just proved my point from my original reply. If you are embedding a 250 entry array in VB.NET then you obviously have now idea how to program in this language. In VB.NET you would use the same method you would use in C#. Enough Said!

One simply cannot say something is bad without at least giving a brief explanation as to why. After programming for 41 years using many programming languages, I have great respect for the Basic language and it's evolutions.

VisualBasic.Net said to C#... Anything you can do so can I. I can even do some things you can't. I also give credit where credit is due so there are things you can do that I can't. That's mostly because there is an ongoing attempt to kill Visual Basic so that C# has no competition and keeps a top spot in the preferred programming languages lists. Simply said, Why pay a C# programmer 80K plus for application development when you can get a high school grad to do the same in Visual Basic for 40K. People have been basing VB for years simply because they do not understand the full power and flexibility of the language. Every time I see one of these posts, It brings a tear to my eyes to think people love to bash something they obviously know nothing about.
