Hi Guys, I am facing a peculier problem. I am using Visual C# based solution. It contains bunch of C# class libraries. One of the project uses Enterprise services such as role based security and activation. I had a setup/installer which installs these components. Since i needed to do some enhancements to this component i wanted to debug the same. Since i installed these components using a Windows installer it has installed the components in GAC with special attributes. Now i am not able to debug in to these components. I have added a ASP.NET web project and enabled ASP.NET debugging to True. But i am not able to debug through it. Hoping to get some solution from you guys... Hi, I do not know, how to step through in VS.NEt for the following scenario: From asp.net app i am referring to a component, which uses TP to connect to a remote component using SoapHttp. Assume the remote component gives me a xml string which is processed by another component and it stripes it. Now i wanted to check the complete xml response, in order to do that i wanted to do a step through till the actual invocation of remote component. Right now i am not able to debug it after asp.net pages...means the class libraries are not allowing to debug. Hi Folks, I had a situation, where i need to have two drop downs in the edit mode of a datagrid. In the edit mode if i select a value from one of the drop down (ex say a country) the other drop down which is part of another column should be re-populated based on the previous drop downs selection. This is a typical parent/child or category/sub category relationship. The problem i am facing at the moment is to get a reference to the child drop down in the edit mode. Before i accept or deny i would like to learn some more information from you. Let me give you the scenario. I just want to insert a record to master table. for this scenario there are only two possible results. The record will be inserted or some error could happened. Since i have a robust exception handling mechanism i can trap exceptions if any and proceed accordingly. If no exception i guess i am assured of my data being inserted. Consider using transaction for this scenario. What will you do when some exception occurs: In the catch block you will say rollback. What is there to rollback?? becaz we performed no prior successful transaction to be rolled back. So i feel for this scenario rollback gives no benefit.
