  • What Is Your Most Valuable Life Skill?

Knowing full well that no matter my coding skills there are people with far more knowledge and I can learn from even the junior-est person in the team. Having absolute zero ego about what I can do and ask for help when I don't understand something.

  • Why does a bottle of honey have a "best by" date?
    V virang_21

As I understand most of the honey found in market is adulterated. Adding some other stuff like sucrose syrup to increase quantity. Once you add stuff to it there has to be an expiry date.

Programming jobs by and large has celling on how much you can make doing certain things. You can know number of tools and tech but still there is a limit to what you can make unless you are a wiz working at top tier company. How did you overcome this obstacle?

  • 92% of IT leaders comfortable with business users using low-code tools
    V virang_21

I work in this field of low-code/no-code platforms now and I have more than a decade of experience in app development. Just completed a project where these business devs has used excel as database bacause they don't understand SQL. Converted that app to use SQL and removed tons of steps that was making the whole process slow. There will always be a need for developers.

    How do you like Rust?

So far it feels like any other language with its own naming convention for most of the things. Same same but different (like library is called crate, compiler is called Cargo, something that looks like .NET namesapce is called trait ). Easy to grasp coming from programming background.

    1. Read 2 books so far ( Shoe Dog, The Happiest Man on Earth ) and on to third one ( Dare to Lead ) 1) Learning a programming language that I may never use ( Rust. Just out of curiocity. ) 2) Need to do some certification that work will ask for next year. This is on todo list. May get to it in next few days. 3) On call support for work while everyone is on leave. So far only couple of support issues from clients so going well in that regard. How are you all coping this holiday season ?
