Man there are a very simple solution for your problem... 1st you have to find the root of your problem... is it the internet?! easy find your DSL/Cable modem take the cable/wire that comes form the outside and unplug it get a condom, the extra thinner ones, and wrap around the connector and plug it back in without ripping it, its very hard to do probably its going to take a few tries but then you protected of yourself, the condom if you are able to get it win and plug the cable without ripping it will isolate the physical contact between both side making sure that the connection will not reach the infected path or others... Being realistic now for me MSE has been enough for years, and only need when opening something that I doubt and I am not talking about everyday stuff... surfing the internet and malware and pretty good usually evaluation my clicks and had no troubles, but if you allow other people to use the pc that can be trouble that why I don't... a have a 2nd old pc for that where I also try the stuff that I don't trust... if I understand you are a programmer, as a programmer you should be a little more smart about this subject and the online selection you make and software you download or trust, not even my wife or in-laws get that amount of virus or malware

i completly agree with you, but when you reach some points, there are no point anymore... About teaching how to search, they already know... they can find how to stream movies from ps3 to pc, how to do this and that, but nothing related to work... because this people dont really care... my manager is a 64 years old man... that just want peace... and doesnt care obout nothing more... and im at the middle of this... at the same time my manager is like the bosses old friend... he doesnt even search for salaries to us... i dont have a raise for more than 3 years... they problem is that my manager puts all the pressure on me because he feels like im the responsible one... Hi, Your problem is that on the subcategory you need one more field you need Categories ID Category SubCategories ID Category SubCategory You should use the ER Model always that it is possible and that requires a unique identifier per table... for me this is the easiest way to do it!!! Your queries should be some like For the Categories SELECT * FROM Categories For the subcategories SELECT * FROM SubCategories WHERE Category = 'YOUR CATEGORY ID' This way you retrive all the sub categories for that specific Category... with no offense but Sometimes i dont understand what kind of work is this people doing to so this basic questions! i believe that you should buy a book and understant the whole concept about databases before trying to do this kind of job

Hi, i did something quite some time ago. i used just one .EXE... if i found one update on the web server i download it to a temp file then i create a batchfile. that renames the files... i run the batchfile and close my application... i use a timeout command on the batch file that way i'm sure the time the user presses a key on the batch file window or the timeout expires my main application windows is already closed....

Hi, I'm a programmer 75% of the time the other 25% i'm mantain the company up and running... servers, sql, some helpdesk... ect... when i compare my knowledge to some other people that i know i feel that i'm a bit up in front... and that if i have to do something i can research and 99% of the times i solve the problems. some co-workers they dont try to research or make any kind of effort... sometimes i feel bad sharing information with them because i never got nothing back and because if i dont share the knowledge they dont care to search... and at the end i have to the job... What should i do?! Should i share should i stop share and tell them to find out... it's hard because i spend hours of my personal time researching and reading and at the end im giving it to others for free... also my manager dont care or i do it or i tell to the other how to do it basically... i'm a little bit tired of all of this but everytime i go online to find a new job i always feel incomplete... in the jobs they ask for so many things at the same time... should i ignore the situation and try or what your experience tells? also how you rate yourself i see people all the time saying that they are good doing this and that. but i major of the times i never see nothing accomplished, or any big knowledge, but these are the guys with the good jobs... should i say that i am an expert on something that i know i'm not... sometimes i can do some work on a certain subject but that doesnt make me an expert...

if you want a faster and reliable system you go with RAID 5 3 hdd is OK and it works just fine... if you want just the redundancy go with raid 1 but no performance gain... if you want just the performance go with raid 0, but your risks double... as if one the hdd goes bad you loose information of both... intel ICH configuration has only 4 or 5 options on the menu... i dont know how some people can have problems... its a straight process... you chose the hdd's and raid type then you create the volume exit and its done... To enter the config you press CTRL+I on boot when it shows on the screen. dont forget if you are using 2003 server or xp you may have to use the driver disk to add the raid controller driver to windows setup so it recognizes the drive. on vista you dont have this problem it comes with the driver already... After intalling windows you can install Intel® Matrix Storage Manager it gives you all the info... and also alerts you and shows the status of the hdd's and raid as when rebuild... About the backups, having redundancy doesn't avoid Backups... You should do backups anyway... the intention is UPTIME and RELIABILITY not avoid backups.... maybe you can change your backup policy a lit but continue making backups from time to time... you can have some kind of power issues that burn all your hdd and if you dont have backup you are in trouble...

i have done a couple of server with Intel ICH8/9/10 and i can tell you that mainly 9/10 are well worth it... intel has done a good job with this free raid... and also you can't compare this ICH RAID with Software RAID, and neither with hardware controllers... its right in the middle and above a lot of those entry level controllers that you buy... i bought an LSI last year it was a deception i prefer the ICH10 without any doubt... In my personal server i have an Tyan MB with ICH10 and 3x 750gb 7200rpm in RAID 5 and the throughput is around 200mb/s... even my system (Single) SCSI UW320 IBM 74gb 15000 rpm does not go past 74mb/s... Problems until today NONE... the only down its a little slow when checking data for curruption, but that just happens if the power fails or some like that... but you can continue to work at the same time... So i would say go for it... and if you want go for a MB from INTEL(INTEL MAKE AND MODEL NOT ASUS) with ICH10 they are real stable, and very good on performance...
