Unfortunantly, Roger, there is not an intelligent solution to every problem. Fortunantly for me, the violent American redneck in me is never too far below the surface. I have found that when intelligence fails, violence is usually a good backup. When someone tells me they don't like me and my country and murder 3000 of my countrymen to make their point, I tend to take them seriously. When they justify their actions by appealing to religious zealotry, I believe in demonstrating to them in no uncertain terms precisely who's side God is on. When I have reason to believe that the attitude which prompted those feelings are wide spread within a society that is promoting values diametrically opposed to those I live by, I believe that the time for thoughtful introspection is over. I believe that Islamic civilization is irredeemably evil. It deserves to be destroyed. It should be destroyed. On 9/11/2001 we had moral justification for doing that, and were too squimish to act. We will pay horribly for that mistake for years to come. "Human imagination has been sculpted by the universe within which it was born" Hmmmm...

I have a very oily skin for some reason. If I don;t take regular sauna's/steam rooms then I get zits quite quickly. I uses to have an epidemic of them until I first went into a sauna. My face exploded for the first few days but then I didn't have any for ages (untill I lost access to the sauna). So I recommend sauna/steam to clean up the problem. BTW. I have all my hair, although given the chance I would shave it all off, but I am not allowed by GF on pain of death*. * I know, I should stand up to her, but she has a very big knife! I guess you could do that for real quite easily, by just making the sign the same way those magic rulers and stuff are made that change the picture when you angle them (by having a zig-zagged surface of prisms). [is there a proper technical term for those?] Having the sign at a slight angle would make it appear to flip between 2 images as you drove past. Could be quite distracting though -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Well, you ought to be using C++ style comments instead of C comments. :-D I work on an installer and uninstaler for drivers, some of the code surrounding API's (or registry hacks to get around using APIs that won't work) are similar, but a little more toned down. Enough to make others who look at the code laugh, but not bad enough to get me fired. Even if you win the rat race, you're still a rat.

This is more accurate: How many atheists does it take to find a five-legged pink unicorn? None. There's no such thing as a five-legged pink unicorn. Yes, that soundz like a good idea. Whilst its a non profit type venture, I also don't wish to create any large bills doing it. Possibly I should have a talk with an advertising company I guess. Alison Pentland wrote: I despair, what does she think I do all day? ROTFL - it's one thing to say that women in general tend not to excel in technical pursuits ( which is different to say 'women are no GOOD at it', it could just be that they don't WANT to, by and large, pursue such things ), but to word it like that, and to your FACE ??? I hope you said something like, 'No, idiots are no good at anything technical, because I sure am. Aren't you ?'. Alison Pentland wrote: 'all women are tying to trick you into a long term relationship' Whoever said that is a moron. It's my opinion that people who are looking for sex and hiding from a relationship are emotionally stunted in any case. Of course, that's based on the fact that I have a strong nesting instinct, I've wanted a family since I was 12. So maybe I'm compensating for the lack of affection in my own childhood, and it's me who is stunted. It's all a matter of perspective, I guess.... Alison Pentland wrote: 'should women have breast implants?' Well, you have to understand that guys can only talk about this from the point of view of an onlooker. Should women have implants ? My opinion is no, if they think that is what defines them as a person, maybe they should have counselling instead. Having said that, if they pay for them, then they can do what they like. I will admit I would always consider my first impression of anyone who did that to be somewhat shallow, but it's also none of my business. The point, as I make below, is that it's probably not worth getting upset over. In any case, we have a vested interest. All men like breasts, I daresay, and while hopefully no-one would go out with someone based on their cup size, once we ARE with someone, they are the only ones we get to play with, so it's only natural that we have an opinion. In my experience though, women are far more hung up about variations in the distribution of fat on the female body than men are. Alison Pentland wrote: Perhaps I feel under fire because there are so few women to put our point of view. There are hardly any here, and I think currently none who post as often as you do. It's a side effect of there being more guys in the industry, a site like this, especially in the soapbox, is likely to turn into conversations about the sort of things blokes discuss. Consider it a chance to glimpse into the inner sanctum :P Alison Pentla

10x Colin and Paul for agreeing :) Actually I was gonna use the word 'dyke'. AFAIK it refers to that thingy which keeps water from flooding land but it seems it is also used to signify lesbians. It's the fault of the politcally correct crowd: most are just left-wing psuedo-intellectuals who are spineless, soft-hearted and soft-headed and GOD do i have this irrational urge to ban them to Siberia. I buy the New Statesman (UK mag with lefty views) just to know what's the latest shit they're coming up with. Please forgive my rant.
