Yes. However, with VS 2012 and later, MS have moved to the "Update" model. I'm not sure if these are guaranteed to be cumulative, although they appear to be for now. But when MS depart from this model they usually say so on the download page, i.e., they will list prerequisites. Kevin

I upgraded from VS2008 to VS2010 and then to VS2012, and did not have any problems that I recall. It may be that 8 to 12 is too big a leap for the converter.

VB.NET is just the language, you have to share what is the data source for your application. Database, or some other sort of data or a CSV generated data. What? Secondly, if your records only have one conman value (non-redundant data) then just get the value of that column. Also, to compare two values, you simply use if else block, and pass both the column's values to it and you're set to go. LocalDB doesn't run as a service: Introducing LocalDB, an improved SQL Express[^] LocalDB doesn't create any database services; LocalDB processes are started and stopped automatically when needed. The application is just connecting to "Data Source=(localdb)\v11.0" and LocalDB process is started as a child process of the application. A few minutes after the last connection to this process is closed the process shuts down. There doesn't appear to be an option to use full SQL Server instead of LocalDB. Try running VS elevated, in case it's a permissions problem. Thank you for your reply. I made mistake, because I was actually using WriteFullEndElement, and not WriteEndElement (as I mentioned before). WriteEndElement is what I needed for this. Thanks again!
