I *LOVE* ADSL
-
I'm home sick today ( for the past two weeks my kids and other peoples kids have been vomiting in my house, the whole place smells of spew and I'm surprised it took me this long to get sick ), but by lucky co-incidence I bought a new book yesterday ( on XSLT ) AND I got my copy of VS.NET. So I start my .NET install, and it tells me I need W2000 SP2. I go to Microsoft to download it - I am getting 50 k per second. I'll have the 100 meg file in half an hour. Man, I love ADSL. Christian Graus wrote: Telstra both don't offer that sort of deal I was going to sign up to Netspace when the latest price rise came in on Telstra, because the deal is much better, but the cost of re-connection and a new modem made it too expensive. If only Optus installed into MDUs. Its a trade off. I can download faster, you can download more. Christian Graus wrote: they stopped writing but hit me with it when I called for ADSL four years later I'm impressed that Telstra's billing software was smart enough to work that out. I'm amazed that they print the phone book and claimed the problem was they did not know how to contact me because I moved house. We are the only people with the surname 'graus' in Tasmania. I would loan you some of my bandwidth but it would probably be pretty tough getting a Cat5e cable all the way to India. -:suss:Matt Newman:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

I could use ADSL right now. I wanted to download Oracle Database so I could test it for a new job I might be doing soon. No words can describe how surprised I was to find out the lastest version was a 1.2GB download. I was going to settle for the older version - *only* 600MB. I wish the prices would finally go down. I'll probably get ADSL if I move south next year. Isaac Sasson, Small time programmer - complainer at large. Sonork ID 100.13704
