Absolutely true. Even within Windows web browsing, when it comes to reaching all audience without any reservations, the most common way is to reach out for Java Applets. ActiveX still does not seem to have reached a good point hitherto at least with respect to the following issues: 1) IE-centric technology (I admit that FF comes with plugins but only for limited ActiveX Controls like Windows Media Player). 2) Applet's sandbox security is still considered far more superior than ActiveX's loose-ends. 3) Privileged installation requriment for ActiveX Controls unlike applets where a viewer can just use the applet without the need of installing anything.

In lieu of today's Friday Post, here's something for the Java haters. :) I'm doing more Java than C# these days and don't necessarily agree with this quote, but it made me _actually_ laugh out loud, so I thought I'd share it.

Saying Java is best because it works on all OSes is like saying anal sex is best because it works on all genders.

        Cheers, Vikram.

I think that is a good point for anyone who thinks one technology / language is good for all applications. Thanks for the laugh.

That is absolutely hysterical if not totally inappropriate. BTW, if you do a table you will find that anal sex does not work with all gender combinations.
