5 for the quote, -5 cos he was French and a further -5 cos I'm feeling curmudgeonly and Rage gave you an extra 5 because he was French and jingoistic (Can the French be jingoistic?) voting is strictly prohibited.

Just wiping the coffee off my screen .........

I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

We use coffee cup in India. It's a lot more easier to clean.

Ironically, it's only a mistake if you interrupt or find out!

So the creationist says: Everything must have a designer. God designed everything. I say: Why is God the only exception? Why not make the "designs" (like man) exceptions and make God a creation of man?

Most limit themselves to one fatal mistake at a time, but I suppose some people are just greedy.

It depends: Scenario 1: The husband shot the man who was committing the mistake with his wife. One fatal mistake. Scenario 2: The husband shot the wife, too. Two fatal mistakes. Scenario 3: The busband was shot while interrupting other's mistake. One fatal mistake.

I've long been bemused by the irony of this quote considering how far Napoleon overextended, especially in relation to Russia.

Gotta reference? Everything I find attributes it to Napoleon.

You'd sorta expect that, him being a brit and it was contested between Lord Nelson and His Imperial Majesty, Napoleon Bonaparte ;)
