CodeProject is a typo[^] a) Trying to be cool is so lame. Cuil? Just trying too hard b) If you're going to challenge an existing system then you at least need to look like you have a better product.

I repeated the search and it's showing there's 85K results but just hanging and not showing any actual results. Same result if I hit Refresh. Google = 5.5 million and instant page load Cuil = 85K and the page doesn't load. Round 2: Google.

CodeProject = no results codeproject = 85,465 results and (for me) fast load Definitely not ready for prime time - or drive time, either. edit Tried to demonstrate the sensitivity to capital letters later and could not do so.

like many, initial impression not that great. I think the recipe for success are, simplicity, speed and relevancy, which I did not notice in my first trial

They better change that URL. I mixed up the l and i in their URL and got porn. Hopefully I do not get my network security's attention...

I am thinking, I see why there are "ex" employees ;) They really needed to study in the business end of things before they did something this stupid. Hmmm... Let's launch a search engine that has serious bugs, hardware that crashes and not even put it out in beta first.. I hope they did not pay a fortune to obtain the domain name ;)

Rubbish. My test search: "MSDN console writeline" Google - 614,000 results. First one is the MSDN page for the system.console.writeline method. Cuil - We didn’t find any results for “MSDN console writeline”!! :wtf: Seriously! None! Nothing! Not a single mention of any of those words on all 121,617,892,992 pages! They are clearly indexing 121,617,892,992 pages I care nothing about. [Edit: Then: "We’ll be back soon... Due to overwhelming interest, our Cuil servers are running a bit hot right now. The search engine is momentarily unavailable as we add more capacity. Thanks for your patience." - Well don't spend too much on those servers, as we'll be gone soon  ]

I just got this: No results because of high load... Due to excessive load, our servers didn't return results. Please try your search again. on their homepage: Search 121,617,892,992 web pages ...what they don't mention is that most of those pages are "404" pages

Looks OK, I'll be sticking with Live search for now though - Cuil isn't returning results relevant to my searches, especially regarding MSDN!

Ridiculously inaccurate. Do a search for Microsoft - the Microsoft home page isn't hit number 1. Lookie here: It's pure failure.[^]

I will write their next hit, maybe 'A boom-boom chiky chiky boom-boom a boom-boom chiky chaka chaka cho cho.' By the way, you must beware of Betty's iron claw. They are sharp, and they hurt.
