Yes, that is a normal life. Where is the problem? Are you bored? Take a vacation... But let's see what we can change:

some things will change, but you have to be part of it... get out and walk, choose locations of interest, take a camera, learn the guitar, learn the flute. I used to sit under the bridge playing a flute, and although I was already dating, more ladies came up to me to ask me about it than ever had in previous years! Do something with your life, and you will find life rewards you... and keep your eyes OPEN! Someone could be close at hand and you may not realize it. Desperation and sorrow is no way to meet a woman! Thirst (February 1999) Do you know what it is like to thirst? Not want or desire, everybody wants. . . A thirst comes from inside, Telling you that it is necessary For your very survival. A thirst tears at your sanity. A thirst tears at your soul, The very fabric of your being. Only the strongest of men Can survive a true thirst Without finding a way to quench it. Do you know what it is like to be Lonely? Not the loneliness of one, It is easy to be lonely when you are one. True loneliness is the lonliness of many, The loneliness that strikes you in a crowd. True loneliness that invades your sleep. True loneliness that catches you at a party To tell you that you do not belong. True loneliness is an ache in your soul. True loneliness is NOT a desire. . . True loneliness is . . . a thirst. Thank You My Friend A friend walked down life's path with me. At first behind, where I did not see. She followed close, watching patiently, Until, at last, I saw her still with me. Hand in hand we walked for miles. She talked me through all life's trials. Until, at last, we met the garden aisles; Exchanging our very heartfelt smiles. Thank you, my friend, for walking with me! Thank you, my friend, for helping me see That life's trials did not reflect poorly on me. May I now walk a little farther with thee?

I'm working on it. Not easy but if you break it down into small enough steps you make progress.

Being alone gets easier after the Xth year (insert figure you feel is appropriate). Then worse then better then... Just remember that it averages out to being on an even keel over the long term. :)

It's a no win situation, so make the best of it. When you're alone you wish you had someone around and when there is someone always around you wish you were alone. I picked the one that was best for me. My wife isn't the greatest to look at, but she's good company. I figure out ways to go off by myself for some me time when I need it.

Big fat fry up, black pudding, lots of Soss and eggs, tomatoes, some sort of fries (or hashbrowns I think), liver, the heart of your mortal enemy, then its off to the pub for a midday drink before its off to the football game to continue your conquest of your foes... ring any bells?

Perhaps, perhaps.... First I had to learn how to live alone, without desperation, then all of sudden there were women. :) If you are trying to fill a gap in your own life with another person, perhaps filling it with things you like, then finding a woman who shares those things you filled it with?

Big fat fry up, black pudding, lots of Soss and eggs, tomatoes, some sort of fries (or hashbrowns I think), liver, the heart of your mortal enemy, then its off to the pub for a midday drink before its off to the football game to continue your conquest of your foes... ring any bells?

I live in a rural town of about 8,000 where many young(er) people of any intelligence move away to find work, so there's only a small pool to choose from to begin with. Finding a woman who reads CP from those who are left will be tricky... ;P

There are many ways to meet women, especially nowadays. You could take up an evening class, join a club, get involved with some local activity and there's always online dating. A lot of (completely wrong-headed) people will tell you that any of the above is sad/geeky/nerdy/whatever, but f'em. You'll meet more women than you ordinarily would in day to day life, have more of a chance of finding someone who has the same interests as you and is possibly also looking for the same things you are. In short, get out there Steve and mix it up a bit. Sitting at home staring at a screen waiting for Miss. Perfect to knock on the door ain't going to do it for you. Seek and ye shall find!

Someday?! Oh no, that will be too late...

I could write a book about it mate, from the one who flashed me her tits via mobile and said she wanted to wake up next to me, before we'd even met(!), to the stock response after chatting online/meeting of "keep in touch" which actually means "sod off". In my experience it's not a great success.
