I woke up this morning after dreaming about the LHC. I have no life! But I was thinking - it's really big (why isn't it the RBHC?) but they are just smashing particles together.. or so they tell us. In my dream we were putting all sorts of stuff in there. The only one I remember was Pizza. Two pizzas at near light speed .. WHAMMO .. and the cheese got into he magnets, and that was the end of that. So, in the interests of wasting a few minutes - what would you put in the LHC, and why?

Any device that starts with a lowercase "i" followed by uppercase "P". (That includes iPods, iPhones, and iPhorget what else.)

Careful now... E=MC2 This means that mass is directly proportional to the Amount of energy, which in turn ;-) means that if you slam your mother and Mr. Click once together at the spead of light you may simply end up with more of the same (or something even worse ;-))

For some reason I get an image like something out of The Fly - a creature that's part Mr Clickonce, part his Mother. Not sure if it's the 50's style headswap, or the Goldblum style amalgam though.

Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Buzzwords!

Another LHC in two ways. The first time going the same way, the second going the opposite. See what happens. Do we go faster than light? Do we cancel light?

*You* can't be. No object with nonzero mass can reach the speed of light (in a vacuum) without an infinite input of energy. Any mass less particle (photons) can only travel at the speed of light (in the medium they're in). They don't experience time at all. Absolutely zero time (in the photons frame of reference) passes between emission and absorption.

See, that's why I can't accept it. The idea of a particle being massless is unintuitive and unacceptable to me. Everything must have a mass, no matter how small. Infinitesimally small is not massless.
