http://realitybasedcommunity.net/archive/2008/12/former_cio_sues.php[^] One employee was terminated because they refused to participate in mandatory Scientology study at work, and his boss was terminated for coming to the first employee's defense. I'll be amazed if Diskeeper will be able to get away with, this because employers aren't permitted to exercise religious discrimination. In light of this, I urge everyone using Diskeeper products to find another solution if possible.

            Article stated:

Alexander Godelman and Marc Le Shay, two Diskeeper employees (Godelman was CIO and Le Shay hired as the Automation Planning Officer) have filed a complaint in the Los Angeles Superior Court

They're screwed. Scientology is the state religion in the PRC.

How did they think they can get away with that? I wonder if there is another side to the story. But some Scientologists can be very fanatic so that does not surprise me a whole lot.

They're the folks that make disk defragmentation software. At one time, the defragger in Windows was the 'lite' version of their product.

Their software sucks. So, now i can blame that on Scientology too... :-\

You know, until I read this, I really wanted to purchase the standard version of their software. Not having to defrag my hard drive ever again sounds just too damn good. Do you know of another company that makes continuously defragmenting software? Yeah, I could Google it, and will; I just thought I'd ask if you have a favorite first.

I just run the JKDefrag[^] screensaver. Seems to work better than the Diskeeper trial ever did for me.
