Diskeeper Requires Scientology Study

I'll be amazed if Diskeeper will be able to get away with, this because employers aren't permitted to exercise religious discrimination. In light of this, I urge everyone using Diskeeper products to find another solution if possible.

You know, until I read this, I really wanted to purchase the standard version of their software. Not having to defrag my hard drive ever again sounds just too damn good. Do you know of another company that makes continuously defragmenting software? Yeah, I could Google it, and will; I just thought I'd ask if you have a favorite first.

I showed up in their lobby and was told to wait for my interviewer, but in the meantime "please browse the books". The walls of the lobby were laden with racks of Scientology books. I knew nothing about Scientology at the time, so I grabbed one and started browsing it while I waited. It had a hard time stifling my snorts of laughter, for the 15 minutes or so while they kept me waiting, as I "indoctrinated" myself. When I finally got into the interview, it was blatently obvious that they were primarily looking for inductees, and secondarily for technology specialists. I vividly remember the technical interview with a fellow who was very astute and knowledgeble, but obviously wasn't buying into the farce. The technical part of the interview went fine, but then he was cringing as he had to ask me about my philosophical views. I knew he was being coerced into those questions, so I just gave him some vague answers. At the end, although I was well qualified for the job, they turned me down, no doubt because my personality was not at all malleable. I certainly have no regrets. But it certainly was an extraordinary experience. I bought a copy of "Dianetics" afterwards to learn a bit more about it. I read the first chapter and then threw the book away.

Yeah- that's the problem - the "Rank and File" members are there for an apparently completely different reason to the more senior members. There is also a distinction between Scientology as a "Religion", and the Church Of Scientology as a business. I'm sure that the average Scientologist is no more sinister than the next man, but ask yourself a few questions....1 - Do you actually believe LRH's garbage about his life and the "lineage" of Dianetics, 2 - Why do they feel the need for internal "security" agencies and their own Navy (Yes - as in a fleet of SHIPS) and 3 - Why on earth would they need their own prison?
